Good evening, fellow Cheesies! I have a quick request (yeah right) and then I've got to get my keester to bed.
I met a new member to BYC this evening named Toastedrob1. He is new to BYC and would like to get into chickens. He is interested in getting some pullets that have just started or are about to lay. He was thinking of Americaunas (sp?), and since I know nothing about them, I thought I'd ask you kind folk to help educate him on them. He also mentioned that he would like birds that would be able to handle our winters well (I don't know if Americaunas do?). I did mention that birds with rose or pea combs would be good choices. Any comments/ideas on some good breed choices? I believe he is in or near Milw. Co. & is looking to get around 5 birds. And if anyone knows where he could get some started pullets, that would be a great help too. I did mention Craig's List to him, before you open your mouth, Bf4.
Thank you all in advance for giving him some great advice and welcoming him to our thread. You are all da best!
Sweet dreams, all!
