Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Jim- Congrats on the puppies! Good job Nora!!!

TO-Sorry to hear about the frustration with the vet/lab. I hope you can get it all straightened out.

I can't remember who asked about boy goats and their stench but...boy goats stink unless they are fixed. For what I remember about, dairy goat people tend not to keep the bucks with the does since his sent can taint the milk....I can't say for certain though as it's been a long time since I got that bit of info...

Well, everyone here is good! I'm getting another buck for the heard tomorrow. A Champagne D'Argent named Dimitri.

Have I got a Barbarian update for you guys....The Barbarian was busy this morning. I woke up to the crash of a cat food bowl. He was giving Alms to the Poor. (The Poor are the dogs). Normally he fishes out some kibble and tosses it on the floor for them. Not this morning at 6:30. He decided to empty the coffers. And speaking of fishing....he also managed to get the lid off the betta's bowl and fish the betta out and the fish has disappeared....He made a horrific mess in the kitchen. I almost blamed the dogs thinking some one had a rare accident, when I placed my hand in the puddle of water on the counter....then discovered the lid off the betta bowl.... then discovered a missing fish.....
Needless to say Bubba is on my list.....

I think the hatch is over for the moment. I'll give them another day before I call it quits on the first wave. I have 12 Icelandic Chicken eggs to set as well. I got them today so I will set them tomorrow. They traveled locally so I'm hoping to get a good hatch...
Well, I need to check the babies and the bator...Later all!

Oh my! You have Icelandic eggs?! I'm sssssooooooooo drooling right now! Super good luck !!!

update.. now there are 7 puppies.. IDK the gender of #7..

I just transferred 6 turkey, 16 del and 36 barrock to the hatcher.. (58 total). floated all that were still in there.. 1 quail is still moving.. had a quail egg blow up in my hand.. how can such a tiny thing stink so bad ? 2 turkeys are pipped already..

I have about 7 dozen guinea eggs to set.. found 3 dozen on the door step this morning.. I suspect it was Jim P who dropped them off.. It is a good thing I can double stack guineas..

bbl ............jiminwisc.......

ETA: #7 is a girl

Hooray and Congrats! I am so happy she is doing such great job with the puppies. Even a tough old bird like you has to get a little mushy over puppies I bet ;)

Someone is giving me 4 roosters

like I need them! Maybe we could start a "Rooster of the Month Club"! Anyway, I haven't seen them yet, and the lady I'm getting them from is not a chicken person, but she got them at TSC. She said one is black and white striped. I know TSC had bared rocks. So... I think I recall someone saying they needed a BR roo?

guess what I got sitting right here trying to type for me? I got the call and her!? buddy a crested. (crested what IDK, unless theres just a duck called a crested?) lol they were whining so I brought them over by me. now they are calm lol go figure! lol the mama call is light brown taffy ish and LOUD! lol! none of my others are/were that loud lol. anywho, I asked him if he had any call eggs, so he raided the nest that he thought she was just laying her egg a day in and NOT setting on...... You know MLH... I intend to get some swedish flower chickens.. so Icelandics would be right up my alley!! LOL So what are you going to do with them? TO- sorry to hear about your parrot, and sorry you are getting the run around with the vets. I think they need to create a label for me... "Official Chicken Enabler of WI Cheese heads thread" :cd :jumpy I will wait till Earthy Lady gets online to share... tee hee  Jim- Glad Nora has had the pups, just make sure she has enough milk for them.. a friend had to bottle feed hers.. A great and easy recipe too. If you need i can get a hold of her. So what cross breed are the pups? Till laters Carol
