Long weekend of trout fishing and maybe too many blue smoothies. Spent the whole day got 5 am till 5 pm trout fishing with a good friend we caught 24 trout and the largest was just short of 18" and countless suckers!
I got a call from the family of one of the funerals I went to last week. They wanted to know if I wanted them to forward any of the calls they get for their animal removal business that they will not be continuing anymore. I accepted after they reminded me I can always turn things away if need be. I got my first call 2 hours after they asked me if I wanted to do it. A guy had woodchucks, got paid $60 to catch 2 of them, I have to set up to catch a couple more tomorrow after work. I am going to see how often the phone rings and then base if I really want to do it and do it right with an LLC and insurance.
Power got shut to the incubator at some point before I noticed it this morning. I am really hoping my DD hit it early this morning. We will see soon I have chickens in ther due to hatch this coming sunday.
And just one more topic, do you guys watch Persons of Interest? One of the best shows I have ever watched!
MazoJoe: I love Person of Interest!! That and do you watch Unforgetable? Two of the best shows on
JiminWI: Do you have a recipe for GF pancakes? Otherwise-easy suggestion: Pamelas mix makes awesome pancakes. I buy the mix and use it as a substitute for reg flour in most recipes
Maybe its my imagination but they seemed more perky within hours of me adding the medicine to their water. I'm monitoring droppings at this point. At least one chick still has blood in theirs.
thanks again for providing the medicine. And I'm not sure I told you this but I LOVE to paint. So if you decide to do the barn let me know. I've been considering painting the outside of my house blue just because.
Aw man, Dr HaHa, you did NOT just quote Slingblade... My husband gets on Slingblade jags and talks like that for long periods of time much to my protest and he'll always get me with that line! Jeez now it's comin' at me from TWO sides!
Welcome Stacykins! What's the story from up there in the UP? We've got friends here in the Madison area who have family there! Always talking about Escanaba!
Hugs to you and your kitty BL!
Kristi -do you have a portable DVD player? If not, we do. Would he sit still during the ride for that maybe?
cough, cough, Jim! I'll HELP you make pancakes! What in the sam hill?! NOONE responded? I'M responding! Wait a minute, what morning is this we're talking about?
I'm not sure we're staying both mornings... I'm sharp as a tack people... just the kind of person you want helping to make your breakfast...
TerriO *GASP* I'll get right over to the bash thread...I'm... ABASHED that I haven't signed up yet.
I was thinking about you this morning as the fierce thunder and lightening show moved right over our house. Fun to think of you sitting on the porch
Those little fuzzy heads are SO CUUUUUUUTE.
We've been getting those last minute things done for the girls
to move in tomorrow!!!
Crud on a stick, BBP, who WERE these people that you got the horse from? How can people neglect animals like that?
I'm so glad he's come to live with you now. I'm going to have to look up just what in the heck floating a horse's teeth means!
Sorry to hear that Twizzlebee! Booooo....
I'd like to pipe up and say I'd love to take a tomato plant or two home from the Bash! Who was bringing them? Would that be possible?
LOL DH will be around for breakfast (mxm... push the low carb pancakes at him...PLEASE) I'm more the brunch type... if I regain concisness { sp}! LOL Maybe FT and I (and anyone else that feels like being a night owl) can have ours before bed
I can cook if people are game!
DrH.... I didn't say much about our visit, but I did enjoy it! So did DS#2... too bad we didn't have more time to talk but it took longer to get up there than expected. Nice cozy place and I don't mean cozy like the realtor's cozy. I mean comfy cozy! Bet you wish that stretch of the hwy never opens up again! I could live there easy! Yea, you hit that coop frame pretty good!
Nice meetin' L... too! That new wood furnace he got is a beauty!!! The one he gave us is going to be a big step up for us. Mt son is going to weld the cracks for us so it should be good as new by fall!
Those wyandottes were so pretty! One of the breeds I want to get! And yes people, he dose spoil his chickens (but then, most of us do
)! Gee, the stuff I wanted I didn't think you'd want to give up! Like those chicken statues on the stump, the fencing, the tractor, the coop...
Too all the newbies!.... With so many people chattering about so many things, you just got to pick a few things and go with that! Way, way to much to respond to everything! The more you talk, the more chances are someone will respond to something!
Anyone that has any extra veggie plants started I would love to buy some off of you!
Went down to feed and water today and heard strange noises coming from under that work table...poked my head down to look and 3 little heads poked out from under Jasmine! A couple of hours later more little heads! I made a make-shift pen for them and will move them tomorrow... that's going to be fun. nothing like trying to move a broody mom with new chicks..
. I may have to use gloves. I'd leave them but it's not really safe there.
Well, have eggs to pack and kitchen to clean up yet.... Night All!
Unkadan- I watched the video you posted. I never knew I ws suppose to do anything to tomatoes. I will have to try it and see what happens. Normally I just start them from seeds and let them grow on their own. I do stick a pole next to them and tie them to it so they dont fall over but thats it. Thank you for sharing all the tomato info.
Oh joy, another rainy day. Just when I was making progress in the yard. lol Oh well. With all this rain and mud all my white chickens and my Pekin are no longer white lol. Shifu (my baby duck) is growing nice and fast. She's now a week and a half old and doubled in size at least. She still loves to sit on my hand while I am online. The dog has gotten sooooooo much better with the chickens and ducks, he now likes to watch and follow Shifu when she has run of the house. When outside and on his chain the chickens come right within his reach and he ignores them now. I still dont trust him off the chain when their out but I'm working on that. I keep walking him on leash all around the chickens and tell him to leave it. So maybe theres hope for him yet
Well I guess I better get going, time to take DD to the bus. This should be fun, my truck has been sitting in the same spot in the sand all weekend and it flooded all around it.
Oh and just for fun here's a pic of Shifu now a week and a half old. I'm really hoping his little mohawk stripe stays when his feathers come in.

Off to the Vet in a little bit. Trying to get Fattie to eat something..... right now I have a tsp. and a half of canned cat food smashed up in some water for him. He is eating it but it is such a small amount of food for him, and he seems to just be eating the liquid.
Took the kids to the in-laws last night and did some crawler hunting. I think we did pretty well for going out at 9:30 at night. Midnight would have been better but there is that pesky thing called school the next day....
I hope it warms up soon, I need to get out there and tackle my front flower beds. I was super lazy yesterday.....
