Your plants look great! I started some seeds in a Burpee tray and they all died except for the jalepinos of DH's , go figure. I obviously dont have a green thumb lol. They start coming up good but by time they are a couple inche tall they all die. I've even tried transplanting them into larger things like the yogurt cups and tin cans but nope they still die. Now DS (5yo) planted some tomato seeds back in Feb and the dang thing is 3 feet tall. lol

Happy lunch hour in about an hour, got the last of the seeds in and have been running Donny around his truck was in for brakes and oil change. Got a call reminding me I was supposed to pick him up at 8 it was 8:05 forgot all about it for some reason.

right back at ya!

Happy Birthday DrHa! The ducklings and duck are so cute! So is the big fluffy black cochin! I forgot how talkative yas all are. hehe I wouldn't believe the label on the weed killer, it is not as innocuous as you think. I am going to try and live Monsanto free for a month and if it works out will do it for the rest of my life. Been really having a ton of food allergies lately, more so than ever, so am hoping that will help me. I finished the fence in my garden and planted most of it yesterday. I must replant the sunflowers that the chickens gobbled up. hehe MLH glad to hear the Cherokee purple is so good. I am going to try and find one for my garden. Too late to grow from seed. I have no luck with seedlings in the house either. I think everything has to be so so sterile. And then there is the light issue. Found a black cochin rooster hanging by a spur at the top cage so he was about 4 ft in the air. Wierd. He wasnt dead. Thank goodness. He is one of my favs and name is Lucky. Next week will be time to try to fence in the other bigger half of my garden for the heat lovin plants. If you turn the quack upside down it is supposed to keep away a lot of insect pests as it degrades. I am doing the organic thing if I can keep my neighbor away from my place with his spray can of herbicide. lol I am ordering seeds for my fall garden today so will have fresh greens this winter. Funny I ordered burdock seeds and should have some this late fall to eat (the roots), but I have to make sure they don't go to seed. They are supposed to be really yummy.

I had the same thing happen here a few weeks back. My BIL found him and resued him. He got hung up by the spur? IN the dog run fencing? he was no worse for the wear. checked him over later that night when we got home. strange isn't it?! lol
2 ducks = 24 hours between each pen cleaning. wonder what 6 ducks will bring?

Just got caught up reading. My wireless box wasn't getting a signal yesterday for some reason. Moved it today and I'm back in business. Not that it would have mattered yesterday. I went out early (for me 11am) to find a horse, a donkey and a pony out. They are squeazing between the wires (hot fence not working).
Stupid me thought I could sneak them in without the others seeing the gate open. Then I had to round them up with the atv. When I got back there were none in the pasture. They ALL (11) were out in my 20 acre hay field !!! I was trying to round them up on my ATV in my nightgown !!! Of course even though I live in the boonies someone decided to pull over and watch !!! I waved like I knew what I was doing, then met up with the horses in the back of the pasture and shut the atv off like I was just there to supervise, Darn people, go away, that is why I moved out here !!! Then I saw the neighbor coming down the road. I thought for sure he would see the horses out and come to my rescue. Boy I don't think I ever drove that ATV so fast (probably cause it wasn't raining out

) Got in, got dressed, went back out. No neighbor, that was ok.

I spent the WHOLE day rounding them all up and staying outside to watch the one that I couldn't catch (Dh's horse)

On the bash front. Looks like DH said we'll still come. We are going to make sure the fence is working for the horses. Give TONS of hay and extra water for everyone and maybe have someone just come and check on them. Way to much to do for someone who hasn't done it before. The main thing is to keep the equines in !!!

Ok, gotta go clean my hatcher. Muscovies are going into lockdown today. Putting more chicken eggs in for the farrier and DH found a bunch of guinea eggs.
Make some more apple pie shots.
Does anyone know if they are suppose to be clear or is cloudy ok. It is made with apple cider and juice btw.

Never made them before but we have been sampling and it definately is good on the second day and they are suppose to be better after two weeks.

Ok, later Have a Good Day Doc !!! Enjoy !!! Same to everyone else too !!

hi folks,

just a break and caught up on the posts,,,HAPPY Birthday Joe!

Jake has been spending the day outside, most of unsupervised time is on a long rope, seems a pig ear makes that workable

the Marans are shaping up at 10 wks, the Birchern has the "I'm trying to crow" thing going when let out in the morning big boy and not much color except white on his saddle, they are molting interesting to see the colors change

the Fools Day hatch made a break for it last evening, hit the ground and enjoyed an hour then actually all went in b4 dark

cut the last of the seed potatoes, should plant them in a day or so,,,,soil temp is right they probably will catch the others

Preen is a flower beds friend, follow Terri's advice on that one,,,,,,,I'll add that even though it's just flowers,,,,add what you need now to bring that soil up a few levels the work and effort will reward you for years

Yes Amy and whomever, I will bring some Heritage maters to the bash, tiki I have Goose Creek, a step above Cherokee Purple they say but it also showed shoulder cracks for me last year. The sweetness is worth it IMO,,,,,and any of the blacks make for an interesting presentation at the table

HEY!!! got a free hot tub from a friend that has to move,,,,plans are for the greenhouse b4 next winter. or should I just get ducks and watch the suckers "bob" when the jets get em?
