Have to run over to best buy with the recovery disks for our desk top computer- it died at the begining of the week but since it is covered under our protection plan they are working on it. DH had to buy a new hard drive for it and now that the disks showed up this am off I go..........

CC- you mentioned having cherry trees- this is the 3rd year that we will have to replant our bing cherry tree

the other cherry tree- montamory(sp) is doing great and has a few cherries forming. Any suggestions etc would be greatly appreciated. We have 1 pear, 1 peach and 3 apple trees in the same area as the cherries and they are doing fine

have to run(actually I'll take the car) and pick up more shavings, as the turkeys decided to dump their water and soak the bedding....

Any recommendations of hotels near the Bigzio bash? OR if camping is still available and how to reserve a spot? So yes I beleive I am finally committing to the 4 hr drive Sat to attend (Crazy chicken person here). with my DD12.

If anyone is looking for a gorgous Barred Rock Roo Donny, I think I may bring him along and see if I can find him a home? He is very protective of his girls and is almost 9 months old. I posted pics of hima few days ago. He would be perfect for a flock that free ranges as he can become aggressive if you get between him and his hens.

Oh MLH... heed Terri's warning and dont do mint. I thuoght it would be nice to have a plant to add to my tea and that was 5 years ago.. still trying to irradicate it. It never leaves. yuck...

ok off my bandwagon! I have tons of burdock root I am digging out too and this weed that resembles begonias but with no flower.. and of course garlic mustard is everywhere... sigh..I need to weed. Told my family my mothers day present will be help with weeding, tilling and planting our veggies. Or most of our veggies. With that frost this morning I am reminded about Mays in WI. Yes we had frost on the yard too. Had to tell the kids no shorts after seeing that. They were not as amused.

MLH, Terri is right, the big leaf stuff is burdock and it must be eradicated! It gets bigger than rhubarb and then sends up stalks full of those stupid velcro-seeds that stick to everything in sight, particularly dogs and even human skin! Rip it out!!!

BL4, sorry about the teacher leaving. Hope you get someone the kids love anyway. I didn't know you were a photog! And, ya know, I don't have any fancy editing software - Picmonkey.com is free. (Just like Picnik, which closed last month.) I'd rather save up $ for a new lens, and that's gonna take forever...

Angie a hotel? lol I don't think there is one lol just bring your camping stuff and set it up where ever you find a spot big enough for it lol as for the bunks in the main building.... IDK how many people are using them. I've heard them mentioned quite a bit...
I"m soo tired, there was a accident out front, someone rolled their SUV. the officer at the end of my driveway said they don't know where the driver is and they didn't know if there were any passengers. they combed the woods and came up with nothing?? I couldn't sleep cause I kept dreaming that they appeared at my door all bloody lol of course I have been watching too much Ghost Whisperer so I envisioned them coming to me dead. not to mention my light bulbs have been blowing left and right in the last 24 hours lol 2 brand new bulbs in my incubators went out yesterday and the one above my island, also newish. the 'bators go into "lock down" tonight. that one 'bator was down to 85 degrees when I noticed it was out. I was tempted to run to the emergency thread and ask if I should give up on them all lol just to see what everyone would say. of course I know better than that. but hey ones gotta have fun right? lol

TO, Kristi, and Amy-Thanks for the help with the weeds! Hey Amy! I wiki'd Burdock since you mentioned pets...the guy who invented Velcro got the idea from the seed pods sticking to his dogs coat! Anyway, I counted the hours of fun for this area and it's about 6 ish. So that will leave out herbs. I can plant them around the corner from where this bed will be so that is ok.
I'm thinking to shovel out the burdock and then round up the whole bed since Quackgrass can be very hard to get rid of since it has those runners. Then maybe that Snow on the Mountain stuff can finally begone too. Man I don't like that stuff!! I think I will also make a little boarder with some stones....Hmmm...

EL - Your luck with your garden. I froze mine twice last year. This year I'm waiting a little longer before putting in most of my plants. As it is I went out this morning and all the buckets has an ice layer on top.
