hello to all that are new. Boy is it hot today! 92 here. I built to temp encloser for the bunny and chicks. The bunny gets it all to himself soon. I started early to make sure I wouldn't die in the heat, and I still drank a gallon of water. Thanks god for the wind. Sounds like everyone is having a busy couple of days. Amazing how we all gravitate to the outside when the suns up. I'm just thank full for the old farm house we live in, it's 70 in here and we don't have air. Nice! Well I took a couple pics of the newbies. I think I only have one roo in the 5 hatched. Fingers crossed. In the group I got in fondy though I think that 3 out of the 4 are roos. I'll post pics and you guys give me your opinion. Hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful weather! Don't burn to much!

Hi all! How is every body?
I am trying to sell my baby chicks. I have 21 st.run mix breed chicks hatched out on Monday.
They are $3 each. They vary badly need a home. I am in St.Croix WI. I hatched them all out
for some guy, and the day he was going to pick them up he said he cant any more! And i cant have more chicks right now.
So if any body would like to buy some that would make my day. I am willing to drive 20mil from my house if you cant pick up.
They are vary healthy all from good healthy egg layer chickens. Breeds are JG, NHR, White Leghorn, Cochin, and BO.

Some will be pure JG. Please PM if you would like to buy some!

here are the new ducks i got today as we are going to give our boys away because we have brothers and a sister and the drakes are picking on my chickens too much have to figure out names yet but the kids will do just fine namming them lol

Thanks for the nice words about the new coop. I need to insulate and build nest boxes and a outdoor run for times when they can't free range.

Amyable, I hear you about the brooder temp swings...we have a close eye lifting lights and removing some of the cover, to keep temps more normal. I love every minute though!

Terri...nice green chooks....wonder if they lay green eggs?

Omlets tonight with Italian sausage, onions, tomatoes, sharp cheese, green peppers, and moral mushrooms.... Is this heaven?

Anyone watch Lost? Gonna see what the ending brings?

I feel like a human solar panel!!!! Loving it!

Planted some of my garden today and managed to crisp my back a bit in the process.

Baby duckie is still sitting in the egg peeping away.... I have removed shell but not membrane around the aircell to give it a hand and I am TRYING REALLY HARD to NOT HELP.....

Other babies should ship tomorrow.... I hope they make it with the heat wave we are having..... I would hate to open a box of DOA ducks!

Good August morning All! WOW! Don't like the heat. Not one bit! To heck with it I'm putting in the air conditioner. Had to try and sleep with a box fan on high last night. Keeping a close eye on the lil ones. The holes I drilled worked pretty good. They didn't go into the panting stage but a few had their wings spread out. Might have to put the box fan out there today. It was still 80* at 9 o'clock last night. Watering the big garden right now and will do the small one shortly. Would have done it last night but too windy it would have sucked it right up. The exhaust fan in the coop works pretty well. It was still running at 9. Todays main job is to get the air in. Sounds like a great supper Bigz. Has me thinking of some smoked sausage on the grill tonight along with some taters, peppers, onions, carrots, and brocolli in foil. Sounds like a plan! Drink your water people!

Other babies are to ship out tomorrow so I am keeping my fingers crossed they survive the heat.

Sounds like everyone had a great weekend! We got a lot done, too! I stopped at the Stillwater feed store on my way to Somerset friday, and they have SILKIE CHICKS!!! I got 5

My 5 year old named them Mack, Tweety, Sunny, Dilly, and Georgio. They are SO cute! And are our first chicks!

We plan on getting 5 more chicks next weekend, but those 5 we don't care too much what breed they are.
We worked on their coop, and I think we'll have it done next weekend, or the weekend after

I have more pics, but these are the only ones on my computer right now!
Tweety had to have a little bath to wash some poo off his vent, so here he is snoozing while he dries

We let them play outside in a wire crate while we worked on their coop, since it was so hot! They loved it!

It is supposed to be HOT today, I hope everyone stays cool, and drinks lots of water!
