Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Well, I'm still up.
Slept for maybe half hour so far.
Actually, after seeing the horse again, I would like to have him and have the opportunity to fatten him up.
I am torn between a rock and a hard spot. The owner is suppose to call me this afternoon.

Ok, how is this for making it more confusing. Between all parties involved, horse owner, crazy guy, me and location of the horse three countys are involved. We have a humane society in Forest County but someone at the Sheriffs Department is suppose to handle animal compaints.
Not sure of Onieda, if they have a humane officer at their humane society or not.

All I'm trying to do right now is buy a few days. There is a reason (could be just another story on owners part but we'll see)
Actually yesterday she wasn't drunk and I hate to admit but I feel sorry for her. After pulling up her ex husbands name on CCAP, he has posession of THC on his record. He isn't the sharpest tack in the box either (could have something to do with being related thingy like Jim said) He did do whatever I was telling him to the other day. Like take down the metal from the front of the shelter, take out any nails from the roof so they don't poke the horse. Untwisted the chain the horse was on and picked up the twine so he didn't get caught up in it. Common sense things but maybe not so for him.
My main concern right now is that my name will be on that report even if they say they aren't going to tell her I gave them her address.

It is a different way of living up here and I'm learning it slow but sure. The owner did tell me yesterday that she has cameras at her house hooked up to a VCR. I have two cameras. I need to get them hooked up. Like I said I'm afraid of Retaliation plain and simple. Even before the crazy guy got into the picture.

Oh and I forgot to mention that the ex told me that last year someone complained about the horse. Someone came out and checked on him. He told them that he feeds and waters everyday and never saw the official again. (because I asked if they ever came back)
Proof that they can't or won't or don't want to get that involved.
Like I told the officer, the horse is in poor condition but it is not starving and they are feeding it and giving it water.
Anyway, just had a thought. I'm going to wait until I hear from her this afternoon and if not I will call her one more time. Maybe drive out by the horse. Then I MIGHT or might not call the authorities anonymously (the correct county) That way I (at least not on record anyway) DID NOT report it..... someone anonymously did. Then I might consider calling the original officer (in the county that would not service where the horse is) and tell him that the situation has been reported.

I hope all of you that think I should call and spill the beans can put youself in my shoes for a moment.
First of all I would take that horse and care for him.
Second, remembering that I've had both of my parents murdered in cold blood for absolutely no reason makes me fearful of retaliation by anyone (drunk or no drunk). This person would actually have a reason to approach me.
Plus if anyone remembers the 7 young people that were gunned down by the sheriff deputy/police officer right in Crandon about 5 years ago.

Call it crazy thinking but this Sh!t happens.

I have to say I loose respect for the officers when they talk down to you and are condescending when you are sincerely trying to explain yourself..................... Screw You too.... is what I would have liked to have said. He said what I don't understand is he has a job to do. Well yes I do understand that. But after he puts his pen and paper down, it goes in a file, he goes home and then what. He's done for the day. My name is on that report for good. While he's home fast asleep one night who is watching my property to make sure these crazy people aren't lurking in my woods or pastures plotting to "get even".
I guess if he stops here all I can do is show him my camera with no pictures of a thin horse on it. He would be welcome to take a look at all of my horses and my donkeys and my goats and my pigs and see that they are all well fed. But then again why would he, I wasn't reporting my own horses, after all I'm not a crazy local !!! LOL Or am I now !!! LOL

All kidding aside, right now all I can do is trust my instinct and that is to give it a few more days if I can. I think this woman and man sincerely believe I would give this horse a good home. Believe it or not I can tell that they genuinely love the horse.

Ok, well enough rambling. I need some sleep or I won't be able to make the right decision here.

Thank you all for offering your support and advice. Believe it or not the right thing will be done for this horse. One way or another but I don't feel that getting them all ticked off is the way to do it right now. For everyones benefit.
Ok, Night all

Good afternoon Cheeseheads,
Have any of you ever ordered from "Surehatch.com"
I ordered an incubator 2 weeks ago and it's still "Processing"... -___-" UGHHH!!!!

Hey guys, need a little ID assistance. My neighbor just brought over 4 of these tiny little things. A farmer they know ran over the mama in the field today with a tractor, but saved these babies. He thought they were ducks.

Just shows not all farmers are poultry savvy. Any ideas? I thought they were quail, or maybe pheasants. By gum, they're fast - mini speedy Gonzales!

Cloudy No Rain day Here. I vote Quail Amy.

Worked all morning in the gardens...still not caught up with the weeds...I'll win the battle in the next day or two.

They look like some type of grouse chick.
