Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Fish Fry Friday All....busy here with the gardens and having to go North first thing in the Morning...so we just had frozen breaded fish filets and some popcorn fish that was actually not to bad, a few frozen onion rings and that was enough gut bombs to fill er up....tasty old fashioned for a wash.

Vick we double wrap our venzun....we use plastic wrap first, then wrap in freezer paper...if you are frugal then when you take the package out of the freezer...immediately remove the freezer paper...it will be reusable if your package hasen't bled on the paper...just sayin....I have some paper used 4 years..no kidding....just sayin. I just took out 3 lbs of venzun burger for bbq's....it was from fall 2010 and no freezer burn at all. 2010 was a good year with 4 adults in the freezer.

Picked 5lbs of broccoli and another bushel of maters...yep this was the year for maters in Wi. I discovered I have powdery mildew on the winter squash....busy tomorrow and Sunday. I'm gonna try to treat it as soon as possible...I have some huge winter squash again this year...hate to lose the vines now.

Was that you I saw at the game TO? Nice cheeseheads hat you were wearing with pride!

Well I am now the proud owner of three gorgeous d'uccle...one black mottled, a lavender rooster and a blue Mille fleur. Was only going to get two but for $5 each, I could not resist a third. Going to downsize my silkies so I just have two hens for now. Hopefully the new roo is quieter. My silkie roo may be small but he is noisy. He warns us when jiggers go by or neighbors are mowing...

He still had a pair and trio left. A beautiful golden neck roo, but I really preferred the lavender.
Carol took a few home too with her jaerhons.

FT...glad Cody is looking so good.

I am curious about the ground cherries too. I have some free packets I got from June this summer...I was going to put some in.

hi folks,

lazey FFF here too bigz, sardines on real dark rye with micro-thin sliced spanish onion from the garden (mighty hot hope they mellow out a bit as they get done) some ho-made tater salad with boiled egg, green and red peppers from well,,,the garden,,duh

the girls have been getting a 3 gallon bucket full of vole damaged maters every day,,,,at least I'm not having to toss them on the compost pile,,,still waiting on the corn,,, ears are filled out but the sugar content still isn't what it should be, rain 250 gallons of water on it today,,,,might be to little too late

ok,,,,no ice cream tonight but I did just toss a dump cake in the oven

Jim looks like the project progresses, nice having that good help on the way again, hope that "book" has lots of pictures for reassembly

good PM, Annie is working a long week this week, should be the last one as the woman who was sick is coming back.. I hope.. Mom went to bed early, all the dogs are outside and I have the whole house to myself..

UnkaDan, the book has pictures with the parts called out with numbered arrows.. except the pictures are copies of not such good copies, so they are gray on gray sort of.. the book is an aftermarket copy..It will do for now.. the write-ups are quite adequate..

I thought I saw TerriO in the audience too.. cheesehead hat and all.. she sure made a drastic turn around from not liking football to such a fan..

can't think of anything else at the moment.. maybe later..

and I forgot

anyone in the central or NE part of the state might be interested in this program for spay/neuter I found them through a recent article in a local paper, got an appointment for my barn cat

http://the-fix-is-in.org/

you other folks should really check in your areas, big savings from this organization

You can also get them done at the humane society in GB, we got our cats fixed, 1 male 1 female for the price the vet wanted for the male....... I thinks male is 50 bucks and females are 80..........

So...is this the plant that you all have been talking about?  I ate one today whole taking pics and it was good but didnt really have much of a taste?  Are we talking about hte same plant or do you guys have some type of Hybrid?  I have these ALL OVER the farm this year...if they are the same what can I make out of them?

THanks--now back to reading.....TerriOwhoisalloutofsortsfrombeinggonetwodays!

Terri them do not look at all like mine, I will get pictures tomorrow, not sure what you are eating but hope it isn't nightshade, I have that all over the place this year too the berries turn black when ready to fall, and they are poisonous.......!!!!!!!!! in some cultures they are used to travel to other worlds. if ya know what I mean, but never eaten.............Ok on second looky I think the are the same, but not yet ripe......... They will turn yellow brown the paper shell, and the fruit will be yellow and sweet they make awesome Jam or Jelly.......
So not much new tonight been busy all day, went to the store got my lemon juice, and sugar, doggy meds from the natural health store, and gas for the lawn mower for tomorrow. Gonna go for a horse back ride I think in the am, I need thinking time......... LOL such is life when life is so complicated that ya have to go out in the woods to think......

Jim..... I think your phone quit working, Adam did try to call you all afternoon, and got a busty signal.. and rats we missed venison stew Adam will be upset ..... he loves his big brown rats.......Thats what we used call them up here b4 the DNR let them get so into decline.....

Kristip........ Congrats on the Duncles, b4 I ordered my standards those are what I wanted they are very eye catching little birds, until I seen those tiny eggs, I thought well I'd have to order twice as many chickens to get the egg amount right so went with Lg, fowl instead....... I still think they are beautiful birds, but for egg production and meat they are just too small....... I had to be sensable, did I need beautiful cute little birds or meat and eggs...........

Angiebubs..... Bash was about 128 miles North of you now I;m thinking anyone know that area better would have a better quess, but I think I'm close, we are 23 miles from the bash just SW of Clintonville, and Madison/ Wi. Dels is about 120 miles S yet of our place.

Unk. no need for reassembly pictures My hubby has it down, he is good at tearing down and putting em back together, if he gets stumped it isn't for long, he's good with his hands and his head....and if that don't work he always carries a big monkey wrench.... LOL

BIgF leave that statement alone will ya ...:plbb

So Thanks everyone for the well wishes for Bugs, someone has heard all the prayers, because he is still improving, will give it another week to make sure I don't have to eat my words.......if he keeps eating and the new meds work like they are suppose to we should be ok for awhile yet.......... I know he's 10 and I'm told thats old for a boxer, but almost all my dogs have lived beyond when they were suppose too, so I'm praying still, he is such a nice dog, even the vet said man he is the nicest boy to work with you can do anything with him.....
Well going nighty night ppl, lots of stuff to get done tomorrow................ Sleep well everyone.......Kim

Before I forget:

GO TO THE MINI CHEESEHEAD BASH THREAD. give me the number of people coming to the bash and what delicious food item you're bringing. PLEASE and THANK YOU,

I have come to my senses and not hatching anymore eggs till spring. But I really do want blue eggs, so will be adding those types of layers next year.

Silkies: had a gate pen thing set up so they could have more room. They kept getting out. Had a scare because I saw feathers all over the place ( with a guinea feather or two so I knew who the culprit was!) thought it was dead for sure with all those feathers on the lawn. But I did find the silkie, WAY out of the backyard. It's neck looks a little bald and sore, but otherwise ok.

I would love to chat more, but it's been a long busy day. Ran at 6:30 am, and pretty much kept moving nonstop until 1 pm when my cousin and her kids showed up from Milwaukee. Then entertained them till 6:30 pm. Had to o and get my race packet for tomorrow morning. Have to get up early to get ready for the race AND get 5 kids out the door to grandparents House by about 7:15 am. I better get to bed!

Night all! I'll miss you all while I watch the parade minus the orange Oliver, the tutus, sandals, and the chicken suit...

yup Kim,, our phones are out.. today was one of those electrical problem days.. Annie said that half the recpts in the kitchen wouldn't work.. so we spent a half hour tracing the bad breaker.. turned out to be not the breaker, but one of the remote phones shorting out.. IDK why the phones are out now, though.. I tried calling out and couldn't either.. shlt, dam !!

no wonder Annie didn't call from work..

the only way I would run at 6 AM would be if somebody was chasing me with a gun.
