Gosh I appreciate your help! I just don't know about the longevity of this girl. But I'll give her my all.

Kristi: We just had Hamburger Soup for the first time tonight. Hubs overate, he liked it so much. The 5 year old lil girl liked it too! We put grated cheese over the top... "Cheeseburger soup!" my husband declared. Thumbs up at our house...

Hamburger Soup
(All measurements are approximate)
1 Tbls Olive Oil
1/2 a med sized onion, chopped
2 Tbls minced garlic
1 lb ground beef
1 can condensed tomato soup, plus 1 can water
2-14 oz. cans beef broth
1 small can of corn
1 cup cooked macaroni, wagon wheel, or small shell pasta, (or any small noodle you choose, but kids love the wheels)

Heat olive oil in a skillet. Add onion and garlic until the onions are just soft. Add ground beef, season with salt and cook until meat is longer pink.

Meanwhile, in a 5 quart soup pot, pour in beef broth, tomato soup and water. Bring to a boil, turn down heat and simmer. In another pot, cook pasta to package directions, or cook directly in tomato/beef broth (I've done it both ways, but prefer to cook pasta in plain water).

When meat is cooked through, add to beef soup mixture. Add corn and pasta and simmer for 5-10 minutes.

Mxmarg...mom, think we are going to try that one.
Unk...do you have a receipe for homade creamy tomato soup?

Love all these recipes...keep them coming.
Hamburger without helper, meatloaf...yum!

Babylady4... I am thinking positive thoughts for you today. Hang in there.
Ok share some of these good meals you are making... what do you guys make with ground beef. Here is my issue... picky family. We purchase our beef locally from a farmer down the road and while I know what do with a roast or steaks... there is always tons of ground beef.
I make lots of burgers, meatballs and tacos. I used to make chili but hard to make that for just me as the others dont eat it. Made a salisbury steak the other day off a receipe nad was surprised to find it was very similar to meatballs and gravy that my german grandma use to make all the time growing up. Rich and yummy. Make shepards pie once in a while, although my kids dont like potatoes( i know.. wierd kids). They dont like sloppy joes, although Dh will eat them without celery (i like that crunch)
Help... what else to make with ground beef.

Trying to eat out less(we usually eat out one dinner a week and one weekend lunch) and cook from scratch more... need ideas and my family is not big on casseroles with things mixed together... grrr.
do your kids like tator tots? If so try a tator tot casserole- my kids love it and the dish is empty sooner rather than later

Cheryl...my kids hate potatoes in any form. Dd won't eat bread...although she hasa a bagel once In a while. She does eat pizza crust though

Oh and getting crabby at my hens... I have a dozen that should be laying...and I got three eggs again today. Grr

Kristi, maybe you can get some ideas here:
http://www.bettycrocker.com/menus-h...hn2=Core&niseg2=DME&nicreatID2=DME_09_09_2012

They have tons of recipes & you can search by ingredients, meal type, prep method, occasion, hi fiber, low cal, gluten free, etc. Good luck!
P.S. I'm a casserole queen, so my favs wouldn't help you out much.
