Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Please try to get your herbs and vitamins from a natural store.....most stuff sold over the pharmacy counter are useless and pass right through whole, the plastic coatings on this stuff nothing on earth can digest it, I doubt even our chickens would get much out a it, even with there crop and stones to break it up, its glued together........... LOL I really should invest in a vitamin company, good way to get rid of junk for over inflated prices and keep the customer coming back because they just don't work........From a natural health store they are coated in sugar or gel cap form easy to break down, I also doubt they will have the real Devils claw which is best.....used as the herb it is and does come in a gel capsule or powder......... Kim

GR... Don't be fooled by the word 'Pharmacy' in their title.... They sell loose whole herbs.... LOTS!!! And they aren't prepackaged. They are sold in bulk. I have found herbs there I couldn't find anywhere else but maybe the internet. If you ever get to "Mad Town" you should check it out... I'll bet you'll fall in love with it!

mxm.... I know I posted it before but one of my chickens had a dislocated hip... it just dangled and swung in every direction and she did recover from it. I know you said that the vet said it was possible nerve damage, but the point is they often can heal quite well.

TO... BTW have you tried the Plantain yet?

Back to dishes.... may be back!

Cind, so sorry to hear about Tiny. That just stinks.

As DrH so correctly said, I personally will never get another production strain ever again. Actually I never chose them to begin with. I bought "assorted pullets" at TSC.

They are a fine breed for someone who wants huge eggs in a hurry then fill up the freezer by 1 1/2 years old, but that isn't for me. I think MLH had better luck with them, though, but I won't take a chance on them again.

Dooner, so glad to hear from you again. Sure hope you & your DW are feeling better real soon.

Vic, so sorry to hear about Soup being such a Heather, I mean beyotch.

I hope you get her attitude adjusted quick.

BL4, I couldn't agree with you more on waking up to purring fluffballs. Must be getting chilly at night, hey?

Marg, sorry to hear you are all sick & Shandy still isn't better. Hope you are all well soon, and best wishes for a good chickie prognosis.

Ghost, glad to hear the pups are keeping you busy & are adapting well. Nothing like new babies to help the healing process.

Cute pics too! And good luck to Adam!

Bigfam, you woosie!

With a "W"!

Wow Terri, you were busy! Congrats on the juice experiment! I hear ya on canning toms. I was bummed when I only got 9 quarts.

But at least it's done!

Unk, you crack me up!

Better post this before I lose it. Should get to bed too. Lots of chickie drama the last couple of days. DH bought me an auto door for the coop. Trying to get them used to it has been "challenging", to say the least. Bigfam, Hershey & her sisters are the only ones to have it down, probably because they're the youngest & not as set in their ways? Anyway, I got Moose & his harem to come out of it this morning, but they promptly forgot all about it the rest of the day. A couple of them even used it a few times during the day but had no clue at dusk.

Stupid chickens. Lots more but I'm tired. Sweet dreams, all!

Hey all...late night posting for me...day off tomorrow--I get to sleep until 8! WHooo-Hooo! So I just re-fed now...tomorrow I will do water again...this is VERY odd for sure!

The fire was awesome---Magic (the BC from my Sarge) went along and got along fine with the 3 dogs that were there. We are riding Palmyra tomorrow and playing on the new obstacle course...also trying for a couple of letterboxes. We are planning on riding with Carol and MLH on Wednesday (but I havent called her yet) That should be a blast!

OK--I have this really neat roo...can anyone guess his heritage?

On a sad note, one of my young pullets got flattened on the road today...darn semis...they are always going way too fast! (They never aim for the young cockerels either!)

ep.gif

Little Moses is driving me nuts! He's into EVERYTHING in my room tonight! He just pulled the filter off the AC! After knocking a bunch of stuff off the dresser! And it goes on!!!

On the chicken/Guinea front....Didn't see Mom and the 3 keets all day (but I was gone all afternoon so...) but I did see her settled in the garden for the night. But, before I left for town I went out check on her because "old son" said it looked like she only had 2 left but they didn't look "right". Well, it wasn't the hen he thought! One of my other "lost" guineas came back with 2 keets in tow! I'm hoping the other "missing" one shows up in the next couple of days.
roll.png
However, now the white one is "gone"
he.gif
If she's off brooding that means I have 1 hen left to go broody!
I found out where some of the pullets are laying... up in a loft area! Need a ladder to get them
th.gif
I think my birds are conspiring to drive me mad!
he.gif

Well.... guess it's bed time.... night all!

Good Morning All! Cind that would drive me nuts-er too with the birds disappearing/reappearing.
barnie.gif
And NO NO NO on a kitten. Was thinking maybe this winter when I'd have more time for training.

TO that roo looks just like Jack did before freezer camp. Nice job on the maters have to wonder how long it would take to cook down paste. BE4U I wouldn't pick on ya ifin I didn't luv ya!
hugs.gif
Where the heck is FT? Didn't have all the goodies the Bl4 had but we did have Q'd ribs and fresh grn beans last night. Guess I'm just lazy. Or tired. Got the road out back done. First the new road, pushed back to where I stopped before and was trying to figure out where the H I was. The huge tree wasn't there. It was on the ground.
ya.gif
Big tree with a lot of widow makers. Made access to the whole thing. Then went to a road that I started 5 years ago but couldn't get any further with the Case. The Ford sure worked nice with the bucket. The Blackberry brambles were about 10' high pushed that back to the lot line. Eventually I'll have a loop road, that will give me acces to the whole property. Came back and tuck pointed the garage, very glad to get that done! Did dishes, made supper, and took a shower. MXM hope your hen improves

Good to hear from you! CC nice score on the auto door, that has to be funny to watch! Bigz would about 3 months of this kind of weather or even a little cooler. Man could I make some wood. Things to do.

good AM.. nice outside, but too chilly to drink my cuppa out there..

The two young bronze turkeys were spreading their tiny tails this morning..

Tommy was repeatedly trying to breed one of his hens.. He has a bum leg so it was not going well..

Stay off the road today.. Adam is taking his truck driving test.. Good luck Adam..

My ad for birds for sale should be in the shopper today.. I hope I can get rid of a few.. I am going through 50 pounds of feed each day..

Now that my keets made it through the night in the outside brooder pen,, it is OK for Annie to put her purple keets out.. It was the first night the peachicks had no heat.. they weren't sleeping under the brooder anyhow.. they have been roosting for weeks already.. Of all the birds, the peacocks are the roostengest..

thanks for all the concern about my shaft problems, especially from you women,, I didn't think you cared.. about tractors, that is......

..........jimwho'sfirstcuppaismostlygoneandtherestiscoldinthecup..........

DrH, I am just an overachiever. With all the running around lately I have not been putting together meals like I used to, I had the time yesterday.

Ordinance meeting tonight, anyone close by is more than welcome to watch me get crucified.

Off to the UW today.

Later Gators!
