Good Night/Morning all

Got home after midnight from ET's appointment in Wausau today. Turns out we got there an hour early at 1:30pm. Actual procedure was set for 3:30pm. Then of course they were running late. He got out of recovery at 5:30pm. Thought ok, won't be long and we'll be out of there and can go to Olive Garden. H3ll NO.... he had to stay there 3 more hours before he could leave !!! We were both starving by that time..Anyway they fed him so I went out and had some chinese.
Hit Wally World in merrill for desert on the way home. All went well so that was good.

Anyway, It is my turn to be bummed today. Right before we left for Wausau my new hay source guy (who didn't call me back until today) said I was more then welcome to buy more hay (I left a message for him last sunday) but he has to charge the market price of $5.00. I was paying $3.00 from him and my original hay guy was only $1.75.
HOW IN THE H3LL AM I SUPPOSE TO COME UP WITH THAT EXTRA MONEY !!!!! We go through 270 bales every month. as smmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm,

I am so ****** OFF right now. I will not sell or give away any of my horses. At that price doesn't look like I will be able to afford Cody either. I am really going to have to consider rehoming or culling my chickens.
I haven't heard back from the Sherriff's office either, maybe a good thing. So it's back to the drawing board for hay.
Our tractor SUCKS so we can't move round bales either !!!!

And to think I was feeling sorry for farmers.... Not today and not hay farmers. I can see if it cost them more to make the hay, yes you have to recoop your costs or if you normally had three crops but only two then raise your prices to compensate but to outright in some cases double or even triple your prices just because you can.... then SCREW YOU.... Can you all tell I'm ****** OFF ??? LOL
Nevermind me.... what about all of the animals out there that won't get the feed it needs. And the prices are only going to get worse .
I hope they get stuck with all the hay and loose their regular customers...........
Thought all that gripping woud make me feel better but it doesn't. I'll be calling all over tomorrow but I'm afraid with no doubt very little luck !!

Good Early Morning All! FT why didn't you stock up when you knew the prices were going through the roof soon? Imagine how the farmer feels having to charge that much. He and his animals have to eat too ya know. He needs a certain amount of income to survive just as much as anyone. Cindy WOW what a score! Delivered and set up for free too!!!!! I need to fall into a deal like that. NoIdon'tNoI don'tNoIdon't! Holy crap Bigz 388 chicken dinners! Hope you had a lot of help and made some money for the camp! judge can't imagine a farm without chickens running free. But understand what your trying to accomplish. Vic I thought about the bonding thing too hope they both end up sleeping on me.

Cindy and I have gotten the details nailed down and will get them on the 25th. Laura was shaking her head last night and muttering Butch and Sundance. I'm all cited now, more. Jim sounds like the pup is coming along nicely, any ideas on a name yet? Donny called me after I went to do chores [they were done] to tell me I didn't have to do them anymore so he's feeling a lot better.

He's been doing evening chores for week now. Noticed Peatwo is letting his new feathers grow this time. Think he realized that it's getting cold and he needs those.

Taz is getting a surprise today. She has been having flea issues. We've tried almost everything. Flea comb and various store bought remedies. They keep coming back can't find any around the house think she's hatching eggs. Not the eatin kind like Bf4me's goat! Gonna brush her out good and give her a lemon dip. That ought to be fun! I might be bleedin but she's gonna smell lemony fresh!

Hi All! ..... Wow.... where was everyone?

Bl4.... We had Papa Murphy's too!

Well, DH called me about 2:30 and asked if I wanted an 8x10 chicken coop.

Well YEAH!!! Turns out one of the guys he works with got/built a coop this spring and went to TSC and got some chicks. Well, his GF is tired of feeding, watering and cleaning and he doesn't have the time so ....they are GIVING the whole works to us! I guess all that's left of the chickens is 3 hens and 4.... ROOSTERS

But, they don't care what happens to the roosters, so.... more for freezer camp! I'll see what they are first before I condemn them. Anyway, soon as we get a building permit (need one for anything 8x10 or over) and we decide where to put it, he will DELIVER it and help set it up!

This solves a big hunk of my space issues!
Now I have to sweet talk 2nd son into hooking up some power for it.

FT 270 bails a month? expensive hobby for sure, the farmer charges what he needs to make a living that is not a hobby for him and we all know with the drought hay is like gold in a lot of the midwest, good luck figuring out a solution

We now have a mobile PO'd air freshener. Neither humans are bleeding out and all hearts are returning to a normal pace. All rugs have been beatin within a inch of their lives and soakin in baking soda and salt overnight will sprinkle the furniture before bed. Could only find one or two fleas on her at any one time but know their like cockroaches. I want these pests gone before we have to do 3 cats! Dan I was lookin in the Maynerds flyer and see that there's ceiling panels on sale think I'll be starting that inside project next when the "back" will allow. Not going to be fun. Remove the old ones, paint the frame work, and reinstall. Would like to install insulated duct work upstairs to each room from the wood stove too. I just have it blowing in from the back porch now. Think it would help cut down on wood usage too.

DrH, you can paint the old ceiling tiles too,, but the paint might cost as much as new tiles, though.. at least the grid work is already in place.. You should have that project done in a half hour or so,, Use a roller on the grid work.. less strain on your back.. even less strain: Let L do it.

our last cat used to sleep on our bed once in awhile.. until she pee'd on my leg through a heave quilt.... did you notice I said LAST cat ? quote the raven,, NEVERMORE !!!

Brian gave me a nice barred rock rooster, so the resident mixed breed fella might meet up with an untimely death if we can catch him..

Wet morning all!
Hope I can type, my hands are frozen from snapping the greens off some very cold carrots so I could throw them in bucket to soak the dirt off them. Got the last of my crop dug late yesterday. I hated digging them this early (I really like digging some fresh for Thanksgiving dinner) but I planted these in my herb garden (aka raised beds) this year and with the weather that's coming that ground will most likely be frozen solid by then. Oh well, good rainy day project, cleaning carrots. It is really nasty and just warm enough here right now for it to be rain and not snow but they are saying that will change by tomorrow night.

FT~270 bales a month??? Didn't realize the size of your menagerie,

. We grabbed our hay @ $3 a bale back in September (grabbed several bales @ $2 that had been cut too close to the woods too early and had some mold to chop into the chickie run). We had some already but we knew the price had to jump so we got our winter supply early. That said, we have no where NEAR the need for hay that you have!!! A 3x+ increase on 270 bales every month has to be a huge pill to swallow! With costs going so crazy (and my health issues) I am glad now that my hubby kept my "farming instincts" reined in.

One more bag of feed and my girls are good to go for the winter

Or at least til after Christmas. Oh, before I forget again, bought a bag of scratch from Wally World. Not again. It's garbage.

Now it's time to go collect eggs, bring in some wood and throw a log in the fireplace. that kind of a day. Nice day for a good pot of chicken soup too I think with lots of fresh carrots of course so I better get my stock started.

Sorry Vic she got flea combed again after her shower she yeowled through the whole ordeal but calmed down quickly after realizing we still loved her and weren't trying to drown her. Her eyes were dialated to the max!

Poor baby! Think we all gave FT something to think about.

Jim I have some ceiling panels that were water damaged from before I had the roof replaced and did a heavy nap roller on them with stain blocker as a primer 3 coats didn't do it and know dang well there will be no matching the 1970's panels. Told L about your idea she said ya but if I did it, it wouldn't be good enough. She's right. I would probably find fault with her work good thing mine is perfect!

The way I work I might have it done by spring. Have been getting 3-4 eggs a day for the last few days and just now found that I was getting more. 8 eggs in the appartment/feed/straw storage area. All sinkers

Hey Doc.... Stock up ??????

Sounds like a good idea...IF I had a barn AND the MooLa to do it.

Just noticed that my new litte kitten-Halo doesn't meow. She opens her mouth but nothing comes out but a tiny little noise, hard to describe it. She is full of p!ss and Vinegar. She just has an ocassional sneeze here and there but of course will keep her on meds til they are gone.
Man her claws are sharp and she's not afraid to use them. She climbs up your arms like they are tree limbs !!!! Scratches all over !!! lol

ok, gonna go make me a huge cuppa and then start searching for hay. Have no idea where the money is going to be coming from. ET is still laid off and only has a month left of UE.

Life sucks sometimes !!!
