Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Cind, that is great news about the new coop-to-be! Congrats.

No worries about the kitten. If Neil can find good homes for them, that is wonderful. I sure the heck don't need yet another cat.

They just seem to show up around here anyway.

FT, so sorry to hear about your hay troubles. Don't you have a hay field near the house? I thought I remember you posting a pic of it a long time ago. I understand if your tractor is a POS, but maybe you could hire someone to cut & bale it for you? It would probably be a lot cheaper, plus you wouldn't have to haul it too far? Good luck in any case. That really stinks.

You do NOT want to move back to Racine, girlie. After having your setup, you would be so freakin miserable having to live in a city again.

DrH, so glad Donny is feeling better. That is great news. Don't worry about the bonding thing. With the cold weather, they will definitely be snuggling up next to you to mooch off your warmth.

David, I cleaned out my coop today too. Beautiful temps down here today. It looked like it was going to start pouring a few times, but luckily it passed on by. Don't think we will be as lucky tomorrow. I took advantage of the nicer temps & moved the 2 chicks from my 2nd hatch out by Jack. At first he was indifferent, which at his age & the time of the year wouldn't suprise me. But he did spend quite a bit of time with them today. He went up on the roost early, like 2pm, which is his normal thing once the cooler weather starts moving in. But after the sun went down & they still hadn't figured out where the roost was, he jumped down and was coaching them. He finally went back up and was soon followed by the lav. The black one needed more coaching by her sister but she eventually figured it out. Chicken drama.

(On their first night, DH went out and put them up on the roost).
Glad your new girls are settling in, David. I think you will also greatly appreciate that they schmidt a lot smaller too.

BL4, glad you got good brakes, and had good tires.

Scary!

Not much else exciting around here. Besides working on the coop, I got the last few straggler flower pots put away. 2 finally got frosted, but one is still hanging on & looking pretty yet. It was a shame to pack it up.

I still have a birdbath to drag in & we have to clean out the garage tomorrow. The fun never ends. Oh, and I had to give one of the rabbits a bath today too. She was not amused. And she is DH's rabbit, so you can get an idea of how that went.

Hi all!

FT.... sure hope you find hay soon! Much as I would like you closer.... you would get so depressed without your land and critters! Hay down here is going for $5.00 to $7.50! That YouTube call was hilarious!

Nothing new here, well, I moved the late hatch keet and the companion chick (probably a roo

) to a big brooder out in the coop. I think I know where I want to put the new coop. I'll have to give up a bit of garden space but we wanted to re-work the garden anyway so I'll just move it back a bit more. Can't wait to see it! I would have more of an idea of what to do with it!

Guess that's it.... Night All!

FT sorry to hear about the Hay woes...

Good Morning All! First I want to thank all the Vet's on here today. Especially those who were in combat! I know there's nothing I can say to change anything so Thank You! And for those that would accept it.
hugs.gif
Bl4 thanks for the input on the fleas. Was thinking along those lines too. We'll see if this works then trip to the vet if not. Looked at the flier again and fine print says the rebate on the ceiling panels is for in store merchandise, might as well wait till I have the cash, save the trip and just get them at Homeless Despot. Need to beat the throw rugs out between rain drops. The weather Channel said it was 61 but the high today is 58? 20 tonight. Brr! Ft sorry I blew up thought about it afterwards and you guys got plenty of rain up there and prices shouldn't have been affected.

Hope you can get hooked up with one of the listings that the good people posted! Dang GR got your roo's done and great vittles too. Cindy that sounds purrfect on the snuggling. Talked to Dad last night and when I tpld him about Butch and Sundance he busted out laughing. He doesn't do that enough.
hmm.png
Well better let the kids out and get to beatin... the rugs not them. Maybe.

Good morning all! So nice to have the sun wake me up instead of the kiddies!
Great productive day yesterday in the beautiful weather. Cleaned up the coop and the coop "yard". Wow can a horse and a goat destroy an area! Spent a lot of time with our pony too, got him all brushed and combed , and tied him out on the lawn so he could eat. The chickens were all over the place yesterday. We locked the goats in the coop while I forked out all the straw and hay they had all over the "yard", but left the gate of the fence open so we had chickies everywhere. Hopefully they all found it home last night....
Our momma cat had kittens in the barn. Been a long time and they are so sweet. The kids loved them.
Locked all the chickens in the coop now as you guys suggested. Hoping to find out what is going on. Also going to put in a light if I can get back from buying Sunday doughnuts early enough before it rains!.
Happy Veteran's Day to all you vets. Thank you for your service!!
