Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good Morning Everyone! Cindy I had thought the same thing as Jim, give em dirty plates! Slept good 2 nights in a row then this mornig at my 3:30 P call they woke up and it was super happy fun play time. And time to nurse. Toby went under the covers and was nursing on my ankle and Kissy was nursing on any exposed surface.

When I go back to the hos I'm having them put in a catheter. L should be on solid food today and hopefully if things "go" well they'll cut her loose. She's tired of not getting any sleep. Been there done that. FT glad your alive!

Never did understand what all the hub bub was about NY eve. Angie YOU SUCK! Queens are a one man team. Think Rogers should have aired the ball more. Revenge next week! Kristip hope you get that egg eater straightened out! Boy o boy Vic those are some spoiled girls! Do you wipe their feet when they go back in the coop?

Good morning! Good idea with the dishes Jim! I did something similar when my "kids" started carrying plates all over the house to do their eating. Since I have many sets of dishes I "assigned" one pattern to each of us. 1 plate, 1 cup, 1 bowl and 1 lunch plate. You use your own set and wash them when you are finished. Mealtime comes and your plate isnt there I guess you'd better find it and and wash it if you want to eat! Problem SOLVED! It worked so well that we now each just wash our own dishes after dinner. All that is left is to put them away. The best part is that I dont usually have to look at a sink of dirty dishes...unless O clean out the refrigerator....then it's full of containers! LOL!
OK--I typed that yesterday and then the company got here...now I will open another window and type as I read!

Oh Vicki...you DO have spoiled girls! I can just picture them flying down the path to the greenhouse! I am jealous that you have a spot that gets WARM in the winter! One of my favorite things to do in the middle of snowy weather is to go to a plant place or the domes just to smell that green/dirt smell!

Sad reading about all the hope for the Pack after knowing the outcome. I did think they had it all the way to the end though! (Yes Brent and jim, I DID watch the whole game!) My brother, a diehard Packer fan, actually fell asleep near the end! How in the world? Of course he had had much to eat and drink!
Get out the knife Kristi! That's the easy way! Or you can lock her up until all eggs are laid and collected.
FRENCHIE--you are alive! GLad you had a great time with your fam...I am surprised when I go back to my hometown too...very sad that things have gone like that for sure!
Great deal that L is coming home! Well, she is probably home already...I hope you didnt do any dancing in the kitchen last night! Oh sorry...just reread, I guess your post was just this morning! So my advice goes double! NO dancing and NO "ahem" either! You will probably have her sitting in a queenly throne with her feet up feeding her peeled grapes! She will be a spoiled lady just like Vickie's chickens! Dont let her take any dirt baths though--LOL!

So our party yesterday was really fun! My Dad didnt show up so Mom came with my Aunt. They stayed for the whole game! That never happens when my Dad comes. Then she forgot her purse on my table and called for her insurance card numbers! She was apparently having chest and arm pain all the way home! I talked to her about 10:30 and she was still in the Emergency room. The had her on a morphine drip and something else...a bit funny to talk to her while she was slurring her words! Please say a prayer for her. The EKG said nothing but she was still in extreme pain.

Tonight we are going out to dinner on "the corner" then we will go back to our friends' house for a while and have the town limo pick up up and take us back there for the New Year's party. We went last year and they do fireworks and stuff. It was pretty fun. The funniest part is taking the limo back and listening to all the other riders talking! We used to cook at their house and have a game night when the kids would stay with us. Then we would just all stay over and have New Years breakfast together. It was very fun to start the year like that for sure...now I just worry about the kids being out! Sheesh...it never ends.

OK, I asked DH to start my car when he left so I hope it is toasty. Supposed to get down to 2 tonight here...guess I wont be dressing up for the party (Yeah right! like I would...

Have a great last day of the year and be careful tonight if you are going out! .....My service announcement for the day....

I just wanted to congrat Hurley for winning at the hatching contest..you can send me some of them eggs!!!!!!
Yes the big win is not until the 1st, but, they have tons of contests and prizes every day!!! Hurley won two of the contests so far. The lucky duck.

Good Morning!!
I had an interesting night last night. Took DH out to Culvers then we went to Best Buy ( I hate that store, but they had a good shot of what DH wanted) and a friend works there...
I had been given a few odd gifts by a client, of which included a "collector's copy" of Elvis's last will and testament... uh.. okay...
Anyhoo they were in the truck in a bag, so we brought them in and CeCe our BC mix latches on to a horse pillow as if its a toy, I kid you not. DH admonished her and put it back...
went back to putting things away, and she did it again...
We were laughing so hard and I just don't have the heart to take it away from her, she is 11/12 years old, her hips give her some trouble and she had been having a painful day yesterday.
Here are 2 pics I took of her with her new "wooba"

And then things got weird. We were out throwing frisbees for the dogs, (yes we need to do that with high energy dogs... bleh!)
and DH heard local coyotes yipping and such. Didn't think much of it and we went in,
I let Lexi our sharpei/lab mix out and she goes off chasing bunnies or to just check out the yard/sheds.
She comes in and a little while later seems agitated as if she really needs to go out to do her business.
DH lets her out, and a short time later she seems agitated again.
I am lounging about in my over sized recliner on the interwebs, and at first I think she is hurt, he thinks she is sick... I ask him to take a walk around
the house to see if anyone had come up and looked in the windows or something, he only saw dog prints.
I get her to come up on the chair and she shaking like a leaf, I grab her blanket and wrap her in it, She is petrified, shaking and just stiff with fear.
I pet her and cuddle till I am almost asleep, I take her and her blanked upstairs and get her under the covers with me, she is a 40-50lb dog, I fall asleep,
she climbs out from under the covers and goes to sleep.
This morning it was another under the covers cuddle and re-assurance petting time. I got her to go downstairs and we went
for a walk around the yard and house, she sniffed every pee spot and kept looking at the wooded hill way behind the barn and shed.
My guess is that the coyotes came down and were near the shed and house and it really really scared her.
She is back to normal now, but WOW!

awwww chookchook~she is so sweet and you are such a good mom. Bet there is something about the smell of the pillow.

Angiebubs (and TerriO)~yep, I am soooo glad I have the greenhouse but who would have guessed it would have worked out so well with the girls! I just came in from letting them in there to play for a bit. Had to wait til the temps got up to 20o (the windchill is horrible-in the single digits) but the sun popped out just long enough to warm the greenhouse up to 40o so out the pophole and running for the greenhouse they went
clap.gif
. With the temps dropping I can't let them play too long today because I am going to have to turn the heater on in the coop but it looks like it is going to be bitter for the next couple days so I just had to let them out to play for a least a little while.

Terri~I wish I could get to the Domes but I do go to local greenhouses when I can in January for the same reason!!! Had my new Jung's catalog out this morning dreaming of spring, sigh.

Dr HaHa~ GREAT NEWS!!!!! now you can at least snuggle in the New Year!!!

Welcome back Frenchie!!! wow, good thing you are coming home before this bitter cold really hits. I would worry sick about my critters.

Here is a pic for all you horsey lovers;

This gorgeous beast from Turkey has been declared the most beautiful horse in the world!!!

Hope everyone has a safe evening and a great New Year!!! Oh, and there better be LOTS of pics of the NYhatch

Oh I LOVE that pic! Thanks for sharing Vic! They have specifically bred those horses to have a metallic sheen to their coats, and they are a very rare breed. If you would like to check them out.....

Took some amazing pics yesterday..... I think the best shot was of my niece right before I dove out of her way. The look on her pace was priceless! Of course, Trixie dog was out on the hill attempting to catch all the sledders as they whizzed by....

I am supposed to be taking the youngest DD out shopping this afternoon..... I should get moving.

Happy New Year,,

I spent part of this afternoon blowing out goose eggs.. I ended up buying a basketball air pump.. It works great for blowing the eggs.. I did about 32 eggs and made "omelets" for the animals and birds.. I have stacks and stacks of omelets..

I used the new non-stick green frying pan.. was that ever nice.. I beat the batches with the Kitchen Aid mixer..

I still have over 30 more eggs to do.. prolly tomorrow..

my sisters are due to show up to visit gramma.. then I am riding to town with them and DD#1 will come here to watch over gramma tonight.. I don't plan any heavy drinking,, but youngest sister always has lots of goodies to eat..

I have not weighed myself since before Christmas.. afraid to.. I will go back on my diet after tomorrow..

Oh yeah, I think I got kicked off another group.. they were a bunch of snobs who couldn't handle the truth.. I didn't even get nasty,, all I did was disagree with the owner of the group.
can I help it if he/she was incorrect ?? I do know she did not like being told she was wrong..

Is it bad practice to put a pocket warmer packet in with shipped eggs in cold weather ?
