Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Golden Laced: The golden laced Wyandotte is a golden color with black around the edge of every feather and black tail. Joseph McKeen of Wisconsin was the originator of the Golden Laced Wyandottie. The variety was admitted to the American Standard in 1888.

this afternoon is taking for EVER! Will it NEVER END!!!

My wyandotte is the only hen I had go broody on my so far, and she really didn't want to stop. My buff orps, New Hampshire and Barred Rock are steady layers for me. The buffs of course are the most friendly of the bunch too. Also, my two Blue Andalusians are laying eggs daily for me too and are the only white egg layers I currently have. They really aren't friendly at all though.

My current leghorn cornish cross. She decided she was going to set no matter what. I busted her up three times and finally gave in. She is setting Orpington cross eggs.

I have one and Carol has two. Nice birds, smaller than other Wyandottes at least those I have seen. There is a breeder near Madison, who raises them on organic food. Fairly good layer. Need to find my oyster shell as I had a soft egg in the box today. there was a bowl in the coop but it was a little buried in snow...oops otherwise I am just ready for the weekend. It was a rough week at work and I was asked to work more hours than I do. I am hiring a ton of positions which keeps me busy. Trying to find a balance between being a mom and work and being me and getting stuff done.

Yay, got a call from the state and an NPIP inspector is coming next Friday to inspect. Should have my NPIP status soon.

It sure is a mucky mess out there right now, but the chickens enjoyed grazing on the freshly revealed grass this afternoon.

Now, to find something for dinner.
