Packer Afternoon All.... hope they can pull off a big win against the Niners later

Yep, she really turned to Winter here this afternoon. I tossed another cord of wood in basement to fill part of the void I created so far.

Good advice in regards to the golden laced wyandottes. The original breeds were only used to create the new breed.....the results of those crosses bred, were bred back to each other for many consecutive generations until they bred true...kinda like grading where you cross breed one time for vigor, then 8 generations later, breeding the original prue breed will breed true again.

Glad you like the premier waterer unk. I think you will be needing dog food in the big bags for sure.

Nice pics ghost. Maybe the neighbors by you can help you out with some ashes. They really work slick (no pun intended) That's gotta be a real pain in the butt.

GO PACKERS....

Hello Tnmike..welcome to the group..

To be honest you will need to educate me..
What is a game rooster?
I have heard of game cock for fighting..but never game rooster..
I await the education....

Went out today to feed the animals and clean out the coop a little, and the ickiest thing happened. I picked up one of the boards that are under the roosts to catch the droppings and there was this little mouse under it. It wasn't moving much so I thought it must be dazed or something because it looked like it should have been smooshed by the board. I was gong to find the hubby, but decided I would take care of it, so I went around to the other side and opened the lid to the egg boxes to swoosh it out, and it was gone. I went back around to the other side, and it was trying to find a way to escape b/c one of the girls was sort of chasing it. It finally ran down the ramp and into the chicken yard. Well one of my black stars reminded me of myself. She was running around, trying to get away from the thing. Not one of the red stars though! She pecked it then picked it up and started running around with it. Well I could not watch that so I went back to cleaning the coop but I could hear that thing squeaking as the chicken continued to peck at it.

She picked up again and ran around the yard because by now some of the others had seen what she had, and they wanted it. Even the goat tried to get it. Well she kept it and was running around ike she had some great prize. Sooooooo gross! Do you think she ate it?!?!

I hope so..hard to find good mousers in chickens. I have a few and feel fortunate.

Yes it is the same. Sorry i didn't know how to say it politically correct lol. I just wanted to meet people from wis. that love the looks n demeanor of these birds. I have a small farm n Tn. n miss my birds. I don't fight them. I breed minor blues, roundhead, n hatch. They r my pets.
