I am back in the house after being out for about an hour.. I did find a can of silicone spray under the kitchen sink.. I squirted it into the cable until it ran out the other end.. It made an immediate improvement on the slide action of the wire.. then I set the choke cable outside for a couple of hours.. No indication of freezing so I put Ollie back together.. as long as I was at it, I adjusted the carb.. Now I have some serious RPM's.. No misses when I took it for a road test in 5th gear.. that road test was maybe a mistake.. I nearly froze from the wind.. I had my light jacket on,, I didn't plan on staying out as long as I did..

I would take all 3 of those roosters.. that is a nice looking Barock.. can't really tell how big he is, but he would do..

somebody pick him up and pass him along to somebody, etc etc,, let's see how long it takes to get him here..

I am stuck at home....car just said Rrr-rrr again. No dead quail but one looks not too good. I am totally out of ideas with them.
It was rather nice while I was outside. We have a little protected place at the base of a hill to the West...no wind and the sun was warm. The porch thermo says 35. I was sweating with too many clothes on...now I am eating lunch--left overs from Applebee's the other night...MMM-no dinner needed! (maybe popcorn though and a movie) Gosh I LOVE being home alone! Would be nice to have a car though...I suppose I will pull it out of the way with the loader and take the big truck to work tomorrow...Funny thing--we dont usually lock doors around here...but I did last night cause it makes me feel better while alone (weird) but I thought , "now dont forget to unlock it before you go out tomorrow." Yeah, You should have seen my face when I turned the knob with two buckets of eggs in my arms and it didnt move!

All thought was...great, cant get in the house and my car doesnt go! Then I started thinking about when this happened last time and we hid a key....I was just hoping that it was the key to the NEW knob and not the old one! Success!

Reminds me of the time the coop door froze and I had to squeeze through the poop door. Now I could not get my shoulders through at alone any other pieces or parts.

Evening All.... WOW bl4, that was a close call on the sledding hill. If your son was older you could blame it on a whole bot of bailey's followed by a down hill slide on the sidewalk. Suzie was wondering if the light tan soap you brought to the bash ho-made castile? Putting it to use, and we like it too!

Doc, I have a wood fired boiler in the basement. It's one big old pile of steel for sure. I usually have at least 10 faces in the basement. It's way to cold for me to go out to fire-up.

It is 14 right now but feels colder, It certainly was cold this morning walking the dogs. I let the Banties out this morning and gave them extra scratch grains.Debating if I should open the door tomorrow for them at 6 when I leave for work or just them them stay inside all day.

Stay warm only 3 more months left of winter

Just got home, fixed some dampened mash for the chicks, now I'm watching one of the IB chicks taking a dust bath in the crumbles. DOH. Need to add more water....and maybe a dust bath in there for them. LOL at the chick kicking crumbles over its back, then stopping to eat it off, repeat.

One of the things I like to do is dig up a chunk of grass. I put it on a piece of tupperware with sand. They love it for a dust bath.
Don't know if you can see it, but it is on the right hand side.

Good morning you sassy guys!

Had to laugh though...I havent been out to try and start that car yet. I am working about 45 miles away tomorrow all day and I sure dont want to be stuck there. Still dont know who is taking care of the dogs during the day...I am gone from 6am to 7pm for this one...I guess somebody will just have to come home form "their" vacation to do it...AAWWWWW! (she types sarcastically)
Procrastinating about going out for chores cause it is just too cozy here on my chair! It needs to be done though...the sun did feel really nice on my face while out with the dogs so maybe it's not so bad? (with LOTS of clothing on anyhow)
I dont know what the people were doing with the meaties over the weekend...they are really dirty and not eating all of the FF. The trough was still half full when I fed last night. Of course the food was frozen too so it was kind of a mess. That is the downside I am seeing with feeding it in the winter. SOmeone on the FF thread made a heated "closet" in their barn so they wouldnt have to carry in and out. I might think of doing that next year. Has anyone started growing fodder yet? That is very intriguing to me and I am still looking for the correct baskets to start it in. Very tempted to order the package that a woman designed....

Ang--I will have Blue Ams, OEs, and other EEs too. As the bash gets closer perhaps we can post on the thread so everyone doesnt bring chicks for Ang ...she might go home with 40 little birdies! (all gray and shades of!)
Good luck on you upcoming shows Deli! I have only ever done our fair in July...time is such a factor! It really takes a while to get so many birds ready... of course I took the maximum!
My Bobwhites are still dropping like flies! I have moved them into the barn and I am still having problems. Kind of thinking of butchering them all and starting over!
Well, dog is up and stretching and giving me the "eye" that it's time for chores. Yes to whomever asked if they have clocks (Vicki?) Mine all do; dogs, cats, birds even the tortoises! They all seem to know when I am supposed to be doing something for them! Brats!

Light tan soap.................. I made a light tan? There was the shampoo bar which was a little bit green due to the avocado oil in it, I made another bar that was mint and eucalyptus scented..... that might be the one you are referring to....... Except for the shampoo bars, I usually make the same recipe for the soap; coconut oil, palm oil, olive oil, distilled water, NaOH, a little preservative and the essential oils for scent. I should make a batch of Castile soap at some point though..... the UW would like to run a lab where the students make soap and I think it would be a good idea for them to see how the different oils make different types of soap.

Took all 4 hooligans to the dentist today. No cavities!!!
