If you like cantaloupe, we have already started them early.I'm going garden crazy - that's like stir crazy for the smell of dirt on my hands - so I started some plants tonight - hopefully I'm not too early with them! Several kinds of tomatoes, marigolds & zinnias to begin with. Am I jumping the gun for this area (zone 5b I believe)? What else can I start now? I usually plant right in the garden so I have no idea!
I'm with TO - going to bed to read and then snooze. G'night all!!

good info Jim, ThanksI do my dunking at 145 F to 150 F.. I cannot go hotter because I built a chicken plucker..
certain chickens pluck hard, no matter what you do.. some of your slw roosters are not even worth bothering with.. the feathers "set" and you have to use pliers to pull them off..
Once in awhile a chicken will stiffen up like rigor mortise as soon as they hit the hot water.. IDK why, but when that happens, you might want to just skin it.. the feathers will not come out..
generally white chickens pluck easier than colored.. except buff orpingtons pluck nicely.. and so do barred rocks..
stay away from butchering in the fall when cold weather is beginning.. the chickens will be covered with pin feathers..
actually I DID build those range coops.. nice to see a picture of them again.
