Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I got outside and put up some fencing so to limit the range that I'd have to chase birds. Got the ckicks andolder ones out ttogether with the rabbit. The older ones pecked at the younger ones a bit but the rabbit kept escaping under the fence. I finally put him back in the coop after I dragged him back thru the fence to the backyard. I had to chase the chicks into the box kicking and screaming. I think I'm gonna get the chicks transferred over to the outside coop while its light out.
Great week to do it. I am going to go shopping so I can get all these guy out this week. 60 chicks in my basement is ridicules. I worry about not having enough space in the coop. I might have to split these up in two separate coops. Decisions, decisions.

sixty posts, just read.. and I cannot remember any of the comments I was mentally making as I want.. '

I do deep litter, but mostly by accident.. I just never get around to cleaning as often as I would like to.

I hope to at least get the frames for the two doors put together today.. IDK if I can get at the rolls of wire behind the garage yet.. Might have to take Ollie back there to jerk it loose...

I must need another cuppa, I just cannot seem to type without going back and correcting errors..

Oh, the chicks from the 31 of Pang's eggs are hatching,, there are about 5 out..
and one of the 12 guineas is out..

I need to get some breakfast and get outside.. too nice of a day to waste inside..

The chick hatched this morning. It was very weak. Didn't open his eyes, just layed there. I went to town, and when I got back it was awake and hobbling around. It doesn't get up on its feet though. Walks on its legs with his toes curled. Any thought on if I can fix that?

Told you all I lost one of my new chicks and I said I wasn't really surprised because it really looked to me to be at least a day older than the rest, remember? Well, yesterday I talked with my neighbor whom I combined orders with (she got 12 broilers and 8 production browns + my 4 =12) and she had one dead brown by the first evening and 3 more the next day!!! I know it wasn't for lack of care because she had a decent setup and I made sure she bought save-a-chick and how she should use it. She's new to chicken chicks but she worked in a pet store years ago and took care of the exotic chicks and still has her parrot. I think the only reason my 1 brown lasted 48 hrs was because of the nutridrench. This just confirmed to me what I thought in the first place. Guess what???? I will NEVER order or recommend anyone else order from Sunnyside Hatchery again. This was just a plain and simple dishonest act just so they could fill the order with no real caring for the customer. Guess we were too small for them to give a *&%#. The only reason I did this in the first place was to help her hubby out (the animals- ducks, geese, chickens, goat are really his but he works out of town during the week so he asked if I would handle it for them). I really wanted to order from the feedmill in Rhinelander because they deal with Abendroth but he wanted the broilers, sooooo. I wonder if she would want these three and if it's too late to still get from them?
