Had some BCM's hatch yesterday, and a couple Wheatens thrown in the group... surprise, surprise... (plus one Penedesenca) Great hatch rate tho, out of 21 only 3 didn't hatch, they had full chicks in them so don't know what happened to those 3.

Amberflea

Amberflea, sooo cute!.judge, im sure somebody will be on soon...
I think I would make a kindof brace so she had to keep it straight... maybe so.ething flat for the foot to be taped to. Ii would do cardboard... but do the go in water at that age already...

I would brace it with a popsicle stick Judge and hope for the best. Tape it on with water proof medical tape, Had to do the same thing last year. But i'm no expert.

Judge-----I have no clue......But you could post/start a thread on Emergencies/Diseases/Injuries &Cures...........this would genrerate many ideas and opinions to help you out...

Good morning! Just checking in so I dont fall too far behind! LOL!

Yes you could say that about yours GR! You might want to cut back a bit on their feed or up the exercise...yeah right, in your "spare" time hey?

It is not healthy for them to be overweight (as I am sure you know) and can actually be harder on them than being slightly underweight! At least you have easy keepers!
My guy got his sheet off yesterday...no idea how he did it either...all the buckles were still connected and it was inside out! Me and the kids had a hard time finding it because we were looking for purple and the inside is black!

My neighbor brought me over a few hens to sell to a woman that wanted some layers...I should have sold her some of mine instead. I felt bad for these birds and only sold them for him cause he has lost his place to keep them. They were in rough shape for being so young. I sent her home with some Sevin so should could dust them a few times. I hope they come around OK. She didnt know to quarantine or anything...oh brother--never again!

Ok I think I better head out and get the laundry hung up. I am so glad I have a good day for it! Tommy might be heading out to spend the day to...I need to do a "deep clean" of his cage. Man, spring is taking FOREVER!

Later folks--enjoy the sun! TerriO

Oh yeah about that duckling. It probably has a dislocated hip. I have had some success in holding in two hands and feeling where the bones are. Then you can lightly pull and twist to get the tendons right. IT is harder with ducks and still harder yet with babies though. Then you can tape it into the right position and hope for the best. I dont know if taping the legs together works in ducks like it does in chicks.
Alternatively you could make it a little chair to sit in that would hold the leg in place until it got stronger. (Also easier said than done)
HTH a little! TO

Poor little cutie duck...hope you can splint that back to good. We had a fun day yesterday (after a nasty 3 hour interview) where my kids and I had the chicks out and were teaching them about dried meal worms( Terri, we need to get the lowdown on growing them from you...we go through alot!). They are 3 weeks old and the biggest rooish looking one is hte only one who really got the treats. Lots of poop everywhere and the puppy still wants to sit and lick them. MIght get a rude awakening when he goes up to a big one outside and does that!
They are so stinking cute though! Need to get new pictures posted!

hope everyone has a great Tuesday! Off to play after school at the park as the only sunny day until the weekend
