Another Rainy Day here on the hill....a whole 50 degrees...crappy tomato growin weather for sure.

I think you coulda skipped the lawyer chickenscratch, and just hired a title company to take care of all the legal paperwork...the lawyer simply hires a title company to do the deed and then puts his name on the work with his additional fee of course.

I should be building a brooder in the big coop today too. I still have time...so why hurry.

Fired up a milk-house heater in the kitchen to take the chill out...feels good to.

Good luck fishing Doc. Water temp has to be kinda cold yet with this cool weather and chilly rain.

Time to go clean the brooder. Suzie said it's time...smells good to me? LOL

Looks like I may be picking up my first Sebby Saturday1!! A gray one! THOSE are hard to find! She only has one, though. Unfortunately. But hey, it's a start. I've also seen saddlebacks and totally want those but jeepers! Sebby's are hard to find in the first place, let alone the rare varieties! Plus they're pretty much done laying for the season!

Also might be picking up a trio of buff barred cochins! How pretty!!

I hear y'all on the planting! I'm getting beyond frustrated myself. THis is rediculous! Can't plant a dang thing due to all the rain. And the last allegedly sunny day we had, it was still quite moist out and DH put on that weed killer. But it didn't do any good b/c it wasn't concentrated enough and also rained w/in an hour of him spraying it on, so it's like it all got washed out and we're still left w/a garden full of weeds. GRR! I looked at the forecast and it's supposed to rain again today, again tomorrow, Sat is supposed to be mostly sunny, but rain again on Sunday. So do I plant Sat or not? Nothing has a chance if it rains again. I may have to cave in and say the heck with it - whatever grows, grows!

THey are this little bird that you get with a hatch to but the batteries in...they never poop and that is why folks want them! (dont believe me OK)

LOL... finally got it! (the typo made it hard for me to get what you were saying! I told you it didn't take much to confuse me! lol) Yeah, I got one of those for DS last year at Easter. You set it on your hand and it 'cheeped'!

Just got a call and we are at chick number 3 of 12, but hubby asked an interesting question . . . do we clean the shells out of the nest and if so when? Also a while back TerriO had a great suggestion of not moving mom and chicks for about a week. My follow up to that . . . her box is closed and hangs above the nesting boxes in the mobile coop (pic included), will mom be ok to wait a week before going out for dust bath and grazing? We do have a 6'x4' section of our bantam run (covered with netting) that can be fenced off from the rest of the flock where we can set the brooder box, open the door allowing outside access until there permanent coop and run is ready which should be next weekend. Not sure I'm going to survive this, maybe I should have just raised gold fish

update,, 6 barocks, now.. boy are they big chicks,, almost as large as the turkeys at hatch ..

DrH,, every minute spent fishing is tacked onto the end of your time here on earth.. so fish all you can..

As expected, the little chick that came back to life lasted 3 days and gave up last night. I guess she couldn't take the shock of me fixing her pasty butt.

Rberry..they should be fine in there with mom for a week provided they have food and water. I have sectioned mine off from free ranging when the littles are really little! have I mentioned I love that setup... it looks awesome.

Thanks John..wish I can not go back and not see those saddle feathers. Beautiful and sweet bird. Gee will olive egger roo plus blue or green egg layers still give me olive eggs? May keep it for a stud roo for a while then and see what happens. Dont think he is crowing yet or at least I have not heard.

So as of today I am an unemployed stay at home mom whose kindergarteners graduate tonight. Sounds wonderful. So here is to the best summer ever!
Oh and I just bought a fish tank for the kids. they are animal lovers like me(although dad is not so much) and were asking for fish. Now to clean it up and get it set up!

My kids' last day is Monday. Was supposed to be yesterday, but they had too many snow days this year. They build like 3-4 INTO the school year expecting it, and then they STILL ran over by 3! Craziness!

gold fish are harder to keep alive

dentist appts went OK, 2 have cavities and the other is cavity free
DH's stupid job screwed his pay check up again, claimed they didn't get his time card (via email) AGAIN! I'm gonna start charging gas money cause I have to go pick it up instead of it coming snail mail.
for those of you who didn't hear, on Sat (at the bash) I got a call from my banks fraud dept. saying my debit card was used in Texas. I emailed the online place that I had ordered from that is IN Texas in a town VERY close to Houston and they said " why do we always get blamed?" ALWAYS? get blamed? how many times have YOU been accused of this?? They said "we only have 3 guys working here" THREE guys? maybe someone should look into this one that handles the emails?? I think I shall call my bank and have them look into this company...
so my card is shut off and I have to pay cash for everything (or check, but what the snickerdoodles are those?) so every where I go I have to keep telling myself "you have NO cash" lol I have saved so much money not having my debit card lol unfortunately bills have to get paid, so I'm waiting for DH to get home (he's been working outta town since Monday) so I can pay bills lol

another complaint (this one I can't post on FB) I'm going to make it as short as possible.

since 1996 DH & I have rented an annual site at a camp grounds in the dells. we have made BIG changes to this little camper in the past making it able to house 7. for the past 3 years we have been struggling paying the rent. so CAMP decided to relieve us of it. for the price of what we owe them in back rent. they told us this a night before the camp meeting. they SAID we would get to rent it. Ok I can handle that. NOW it's a different story, they have ripped the camper out from under the addition and are now building to replace the camper. OK I can handle that (with LOTS of tears). We cleaned all of our stuff out but left things in it so that someone/us could come in and just use it without having them have to replace the table, bench, dishes (in-which they left the dishes in the camper when they ripped it apart).... BUT what I CAN'T handle is the fact that they are now NOT renting it to anybody BUT instead someone else is taking is as THEIR annual site!! which mean no one else/WE CAN'T rent it. guess where we won't be going anytime soon. I am absolutely discussed!

Stopping just outside Cody for lunch, and then on our way up more moutains. I have discovered something, I do NOT like mountain roads or views!!!!!!!! I bit the bullet and bravely took pictures. I am dreading the next hourand a half drive to Yellowstone.....
