Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

So what does she normally do with these? Where are they kept usually? My brother (the one you havent met) used to work for a bee keeper that supplied honey to HoneyBee. I would really like to have my own someday. And yes I would love to have her put some here. Our apple trees were a buzz with bees when the sun was out a few weeks ago-love it!

Actually the JG are kinda interesting to me!!!!

I wish we could go. But Jon has us double booked as it is. Baseball practice at 6 and dinner at a friend's. He's going to the friends and the kids and I will go to baseball. Not sure if he'll be able to leave his bees that long. Let me know when you do something like that again, maybe we'll be able to make it.

FT-ok, like I said I bought my trees a long time ago. Thinking back it must have been 1999 or 2000? I seem to remember other folks having trouble that year. Bet she has probably switched supplier or??? About the bark paintings, yep, that's a must in WI to prevent Sun scald.

The MG class was a nice refresher for me but honestly I was a little disappointed. I am not originally from Wisconsin and in other states the MG program is a regular college elective degree program.

Oh, and CONGRATS!!!!!! :love

Well, that's a bit of a relief anyway, I'm sure some must be making it cause she's still in business. lol
Yeah, the MG program touched on a lot of things, It was more of a distraction for me then anything else. At the time I really wasn't interested in going to the juvenile prisons and "reforming" them, thought I might get carried away with the shovel or pitch fork if I did.

I really enjoyed going to the schools and planting seeds in paper cups with the kids... just my speed !!! lol I was amazed at how many kids never gardened in their life and then there were some that would talk about their grandma and grandpas gardens.
I'll never forget one little boy I met. He looked and dressed evil... I mean he was wearing clothing like he was in a gang. He had an attitude to match. I remember being really worried about that little boy. Wonder if he is ok to this day?
Met alot of nice people in the class and loved the pot lucks they would have !!! LOL
I also liked when they did work at the Racine zoo, my only problem was getting up in the morning to get there !!!! Some things never change !!! lol

Congrats, Frenchie!

Michelle is (amazingly) still hanging in there. Drinking and eating a little bit but not moving around very much at all. I have her protected from the others with a little make-shift wall but it has a window in it so Eleanor Rigby can see her - she seems to be very concerned about her buddy and doesn't like it if she can't see her. Don't know what she'll do when Michelle is finally gone.

Danny charged me a couple of times today

so I quickly tied the wall onto the chicken tractor (I'll have to fix it up the right way another day), snagged him with the fish net and dragged his sassy little arse inside. He was NOT a happy camper. He paced back and forth and grumbled at me all day. When I walked over to him he ducked under the coop and wouldn't look at me. Tonight, when I let him out to join the girls on the roost, half of the girls ran inside the tractor to see what they were missing. He kept his distance from it and just looked disgusted.

I can hear the garden clock just ticking away! We got a disc and the hubs is out now picking up a drag. Just gotta pray for a mild fall so the growing season extends a bit! I think I'm near the end of the asparagus not - it sure is good!!
