I stepped on a nail this a.m. dealing with the critters. My dogs chewed up the little roosting post that I used in the brooder box and left it on the floor under something. my shoe was stuck to it. bleed oh man. and for all those moms/dads out there, yes I called the dr to see when my last tetnas (sp?) shot was. it was 5 years ago, phew still covered. but I pulled every muscle in my foot, yanking it up really quick like.

welcome newbies!

Enjoy ur day all!

The rain ran me out of the woods this morning got wet a couple of times. Did manage to drop a small tree and half of a double 20"er. Got the small one bucked up and most of the top on the bigger one on the trailer and in the shed. That's the good news. Now for the sad. I got as far as the walkin door on the garage and heard a hen out back throwing a fit so I did my usual holler. What the H is going on out there? Then she went into a panic scream I took off running and got within 25 yards of the noise. A fox ran off with Blondie. It just sucks!!!! I was just telling L last night that I was thinking about keeping them all penned up to see if the slw's were laying. Think it's going to happen now. Think I'm going to get the scope on one of the rifles sighted in and spend a few mornings in the deer tower with a rabbit distress call.

Thanks for all the congrats guys! We are very excited. BL4 I hope you're right on the extra hormones. I am wanting a girl so badly! My first was my baby boy. I told DH that if it's not a girl i'm going to love him all the same, but secretly be disappointed (lol!) He keeps telling me he only throws boys. How would he know?! We only had one kid!!! lol

Yesterday and today I missed school, due to being pukey AND getting a headcold from my son. I didn't move yesterday. I skipped today well cause, I already failed my practical for not being there yesterday!
barnie.gif
So there was not point in going in, looking at plates that were 48 hours and doing tests on them I should have done at 24 hours. She would have just yelled at me.
roll.png
Plus on tuesday (yesterday) we streaked a new bug also for our practical and well, that's half of it! 8 points off is failing, so I don't know what I'm going to do
sad.png
I guess I can talk to her and all shes going to say is "I told you not to be absent from practicals" Oh well, I wasn't feeling quite 100 percent today either, although my pukey-ness let me eat at 9 oclock this morning!!! I don't usually get to eat until 3-4ish in the evening!

I'm not sure on what the outcome of school will be to be honest, trying to get in for my first wellness visit first. I had to leave a message with the danged appointment setter?! Waiting for a call back.

Let me tell you all about a story...we call it the "Michigan Curse!" lol. So, one trip up to Michigan it was just me and Ed. On our drive up there, we got a call from his best friend, telling us they just found out they were pregnant! Shortly after that trip, we found in turn, we were pregnant! Go forward 2 years and Ed and his best friend go up to Michigan for a guys trip, once Ed's best friend comes home, the first thing his wife says to him when he walks in the door is, I'm pregnant!. Well, and you know where me and Ed were in last month....MICHIGAN! That's the story of the Michigan curse.

I didn't read everyones but BL4- CONGRATS!!! , Terri-O- Hope that pup is getting better!

P.S.) I love how everyone said "Glad it wasn't me!"

Jeez thanks guys! lol.

Well Raiquee--we said that because we (most of us that is) are much older than you!!! Yeah--I could just see having a baby at 49! YIKES! Managing a 10 year old at nearly 60? NO WAY. A teen at nearly 70? I am sure you understand that! Actually I would LOVE to have another baby to cuddle...I just dont want to raise one. That's why I have puppies! I have not heard about the pup yet...I need to get a call to the office--they kept him there.

So--good morning! I am so late today because of the warning stuff I was getting signing on to this site! I had to clear all my stuff on my puter like the guy said. I cant find where the cookies are stored (cookie jar?) to dump them though....that is nuts about the fox DrH! I saw one a few years back right around 10 am too--it iwll be back.

Gotta run--Terri O

Don't fault the fox one bit for having to eat and maybe feed it's kits. Hope it doesn't fault me for protecting my loved ones too. Had to fire up the the wood stove to warm up was a bit chilled from getting wet. Nice slow rain out there now. Don't feel like doing much now but will find something to do. Like eat more pickles. Just popped the first jar of garlic dills. Without a doubt found the recipe I've been looking for. Think it's the same that BL4 said was good. Better taste them again to make sure their good. Could be slightly firmer but the flavor is excellent! Yup their a winner! Burb. Yup still good!

Surehatch...not sure what that's all about, but...

I don't believe it one bit! You shouldn't either. Just an old wives tale. Ask your doc. if there is anything that can help alleviate the nausea. Most people's sickness ends around the second trimester. I had two boys. Both pregs were completely different. With the oldest...NO nausea. The second.....I was sick litterally from the time I concieved until that boy came out unwillingly....
lol.png
I had to take meds for the nausea. Do not go by sickness. It truely has nothing to do with hormones of the baby.
hmm.png
I would be nice though.

Well I went from bad to worse.. sorta...
I got an abcess near my knee. so was in and out of the urgent care daily to get an IV antibiotic.
They put me on two different oral anti's...
And one they told me COULD... give me a rash, 3% of the population gets a rash, those that are sensitive or allergic to penicillin.
So yup Here I am, stopping the one antibiotic, taking oatmeal baths, and benedryl...
BLEH!!!

I found this and thought folks might be interested...

You need a guard dog. Something that just sits next to the coop and protects you chickens.
Raiquee- I've already have 4, even though only was prego with 2, so sorry, glad it's you and not me. Sorry about the school thing. Hopefully your teacher will understand. Had to laugh about your DH saying he "throws" boys, first time I ever heard that term used was with goats. Still giggle when DH uses it.
Terri- you have horse connections- DD7 is wanting a saddle for her b-day. She has a 12inch now and wants a 14, to grow into. Wondering if you know of anyone wanting to get rid of one? Only thing it has to be blk. Looking to get a used one, but if I can't find any by her b-day will go get a new synthetic one. Thought I would ask. Oh and we ride western. Thought about getting her an aussie. I love mine, but don't know if she will like it? Something to think about. Took some pics yesterday and thought I would share. This is the fizzle and polish from the fondy swap this spring. They both turned out nice, although the frizzle gets his butt kicked daily by the hens whenever he thinks he's a "man". Very funny. Also let momma and her chicks into the kennel yesterday. She is teaching them how to take a dust bath. Later tators!
