Talked to Jim and he and Annie culled 15 cockerals and 6 royal palm turkeys all in one day....being older, he said it felt like when they use to do 100 in one day...

I am lucky that I don't have any cockerals to deal with for eating. I did have to take a shovel to a rabid possum once.. that was enough.

Not a good Morning! The water has risen to where the both the front and back porches are flooded and it's a fraction of an inch from the house floors being wet. The septic is full and have resorted to using buckets. This is not good. Evacuation could be only moments away. Been getting things up off the floor since 2:30. Wish us luck.

And I have been wishing for rain! I am so sorry DrH! (and anyone else that is having trouble) Our basement does flood some in the spring but that is all. We just get serious mud outside. I hope you are back soon and dont float away!
I am sending DH to the store for vanilla wafers...I saw a to die for cheesecake on the "what are you baking now?" thread and have decided that I will make it for desert tonight. THe butternut squash is cooking in the oven and Dh also brought home some half pint jars for watermelon jelly and mint/apple jelly to be made this afternoon. MMMM...

Good luck in Portage to those that are showing or just attending! I talked to H&R the other night and she was bathing and dusting chickens...did it once; I guess that is why I no longer am interested in showing chickens!

Good news--the puppies are born! The shelter person took Muffin to the vet last night for an exray ans she started delivering right there! Her water broke getting her out of the car. I knew she was going to have them since she wouldnt walk but 4 steps and then laid down and stretched her feet out (contractions) but she wanted to be sure. So she took her in. THey saw 9 on the x-ray and 8 have been born...if the last tiny one doesnt pass she will take her in to the vet again! I dont know when they will be back here...I will post pics if and when!

Gotta go and find raspberries in the freezer...no goo dto be on the puter when Dh gets back! Terri O

Dug through my freezer as well today so I could make some jams and jellies.
I ended up with 1 batch strawberry jam, 1 batch blackberry jam, 1 batch of grape jelly, and 3 batches of black raspberry jam.

I think this should keep us going for the next few months......

WcC, did you ever go to the doc about that food poisoning????? Could be you need a little push in the right direction to get better, one only a doc can help you with......

Well went riding today in southern kettles. Very pretty there this time of year. Was really a nice day for it too. Well have to go finish homework. Take care everyone!!!

Well went down to portage today, it was pretty cool to see all those birds! I want a huge jersey giant how cool are those!
The swap did'nt have much, best looking bird in the swap belonged to buck creek! There was a crazy packer colored show girl! lol
I did make some contacts for getting some black copper marans, bad thing is I gave my number but did'nt get hers! Oh boy now I have to wait and see if she calls! She was from Chilton Wi. She was busy so just got my number and said she had some for sale!!!
There was'nt near the amount of people as I thought, but just as many birds! Boy the colors of egg I saw!! Olive to the max, almost black, bright pink!!!
