Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

well, I hurried home to be here when the lady came for the BO pullets.. a no show.. did I ever call that one wrong.. I was sure she was coming..
it sure is nice to use the hose instead of hauling water ..

I watered beans, tomatoes and peppers.. I skipped the corn for now.. I want to side dress it first..

had hot dogs on the grill.. shouldn't that be OFF the grill ?

I took a chance and let all the young chickens loose today.. not a problem.. many of the BO"s were out and about.. IDK where they got out.. maybe they flew out ?

TerriO, nice loooong post,, you sure know how to stretch out a break ..

Annie found me a reversible seat for in the garden,, not so much for sitting on, but it is nice to flip over and kneel on for weeding and close to the ground work.. I used it when I trimmed the lower leaves and branches off the tomato plants.. beats kneeling in the dirt.. I have to admit, I did sit on it while I watered the GH plants..

OK, still a little daylight left, to do something outside.. the N wind is keeping the skeeters at bay..

A Julie update:

"Hello all my beloved peeps! Surgery went great! Dr. Thoms didn't see any tendrils branching out. They did have to give me some extra "juice" during. Despite being awake and talking on my way down the hall to the operation room, I do not remember a single thing! Guess those happy drugs really work! Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I have a follow-up appt. tomorrow morning and hoping they have the pathology report back by then. This will tell us if it is invasive. Prayers it isn't."

Thoughts and prayers coming your way Julie. I've been thinking about you all day.... so glad the surgery is over and you are now on your way to a full recovery !!!! Hope you have some fun stuff to go home to. When I came home I had 6 Doberman puppies to tend to... that kept me busy.... My surgeon actually drove from Madison to Racine and bought two of them !!!! I was a good Doberman enabler back then.(He ended up giving one back because there was jealousy problems with them)... Anyway, you need a pile of ducks or geese or chicks or a new baby horse for a homecoming !!!!!! LOL

TO, if I was at home I would have time to make soap...... I could earn some $$ that way. It would be better if I was on a farm though. Oh well....

Boss finally got a new phone; and now he is learning how to txt. He does not like the little buttons.....

sucks to be him.

Nothing new here........ work was really boring. The geniuses were at work making sure that we were running at full speed.... (not). I cannot stand it when my time is wasted......... especially when it is due to idiotic planning....

We ate up the last of the mushrooms tonight.....

Jim, I think you should keep those Sebbies for me, until I can bring them home. I think that is the best deal ever. A win-win, I get my geese and you get to sell them. They just stay with you for a while......

I would even throw some vodka cherries into the deal.....

I suppose I should hit the hay........ I was soooooo tired this morning so I should get some decent sleep tonight.......

A good friend and her daughter have been here for a couple of days to help me with the garden and they're coming back for more weeds on Tuesday. I am so blessed to have friends like them!! I can actually see a few more rows of veggies now.

Sorry, haven't been able to come on because of band camp, 12-8. But a two hour lunch break isn't bad. And I have been building a chick house with my brothers, it looks great. Will get pics tomorrow.

Well, they are all doing good. Limping chick is doing great, barely limping now. Hen that wasn't eating, is now eating and is more alert. Wasp eye hen's swelling has went down and got six eggs to day from 7 layers. Good day.

Frenchie~ I am sorry, my wording was pretty bad. I could understand it, but I know what I meant. Breda's are very cool chicken that have no comb. My rooster is a blue. They also come in black. They are relatively small but very beautiful. My friend (guy) is Don or Donny. He is awesome. He lives alone and has donkeys, ducks, geese, chickens pheasants, I think, and guineas. He used to have a whitetail deer. It was so cool. It was stuck in a fence, when he found it, almost dead, and took it home and saved it. He raised it until it was 18?? I think, very old. It was a buck named, can't remember. He has all the sheds of his deer and made them into a chandelier. His nephew is the guy you want for chickens. He gave him his breda's. His name is well, forgot that too. Haven't seen him in probably 8 years, but his nephew is a breeder. If you want to ask for more info, pm me. I'll call him up and see what he has. My light Sussex are purebreds. They are so beautiful. I managed to hatch a baby, but it died. I only have one roo and one hen, but I get an egg almost everyday. If you want eggs, I'll get you some. Might not be able to get more than six from me, depending on how long you think eggs are good for incubation. When I said "my guy" I meant my rooster he gave me? sry.

Cindlady~ yes I have 11 meat birds. white Cornish crosses. really fat.
