Welcome Barbian! I am in Lake Mills...not too far from you at all.
Joanne I have a pair of SS here and I am trying to get eggs to hatch....maybe next year? They are gorgeous birds!
Looks like a nice day out there again! I was surprised to hear rain on the roof this morning...then I went back to sleep. I think DD left 2 bags of feed in the driveway...I guess I am on my way to FF now right?
Tonight we go to the State Fair on DH's Company. It is a good time. They have it catered by Saz's and the people are pretty knowledgeable about GF. Too bad they always have free beer...and I cant drink it!
YEs Jim I like to take Looong breaks--otherwise how would I have time for my loooong posts? Sorry about your peahen! When I had them the same thing happened...mine was on a nest and I went up in the mow to check on her and she was dead...couldnt even tell she was either. I had to shove her with my toe! Maybe they have heart attacks?
My big Narraganset turkey was sick last week. He had a swelling like a balloon where is crop is. (dont know if I mentioned it or not) Anyhow, I got my arms around him and forced out the air and foul smelling liquid from the balloon. I put him in a stall and gave him some Tylan in water. I figured he was a goner. He hung out in that stall all week and then started flying up to the door, then roosting on the door and now he is back out with the other Tom. Seems to be fine too. I wonder if he had sour crop and I just pushed it all out (or down) The whole thing was kinda weird. The bird is 4 or 5 years old by now...
Glad you are getting a handle on your garden again Irish. I have some good friends that come when I call too! (you all know who you are!) Sometimes we all need a little help.
Way to go Julie! Give her a big hug from me too Amy. THat is great news.
Guess I better get myself outside...much work to do as I have been taking it easy for a couple days...just dont feel great. (I want to feel GREAT!)
Have a good one! TerriO
