Ok, I think I know my next profession... I'm going to be a physic !!!! I knew it. I called the home health care and they said they got the order for the oxygen but I my levels only went down for 4 minutes instead of the 5 minutes that the insurance requires in order to pay !!!! I knew something like that was gonna happen....Guess I should be glad but now that means that I'm not broken enough to qualify.
Called the docs office to see what they recommend but the office girl FORGOT to give it to the NP... she is showing it to her now. Yesterday the NP said I did qualify !!!!
So much for getting my hopes up AGAIN !!!! Guess need to stop breathing completely or have a heart attack to get their attention. But of course I only do things half *** !!! I'm starting to think I survived all of this BS in spite of the doctors sometimes.

Oh and so much for getting the boat looked at by the guy who said to your neighbor "OH JUST HAVE HIM CALL ME, I'd be glad to come look at it.!!"
He left ET a message today saying "I'm not in the business of fixing boats, I'm on vacation and I have visitors (was two weeks ago too), You should call so and so or so and so, If I came over and needed parts, then I'd have to go get them etc !!!" GEEZ !!!
Don't know what parts he would need if the wiring is just screwed up... Why in the hell did he offer in the first place ???? Just to please the old neighbor, talking through his *** !!!!
I'll tell you, I'm really starting to get fed up with people....period. No one says or does what they say they are going to do... This world is all about the almighty dollar and it stinks. Did I mention that ET's boss said he doesn't see any work coming in. Might want to start looking elsewhere ???

Latte is still sick? When she gets well she is going to be the best protected against every type of cocci..she must be going threw all the stages. That poor bird and you going through this. Good news she is putting on weight. Hopefully this is a good sign and she is recovering finally. The wobbly legs might be lack of Vit B from the block in the corid. You can't give her extra vit's when she is on corid, but she needs a ton of them when she is done with a treatment.

Judy... Can't you put Lattes cage outside during the day? Or is it outside already? Deli told me 15 min in direct sunlight kills cocci topically. But the fresh air, and sunlight is going to also give Latte her vitamins she may be needs to fight off the virus. Fresh greens too will help her out as well.

Also do you have Floragen? I think she may need super doses of good gut flora to get the cocci under control. Remember, all chickens have cocci all the time. It's when the levels go out of balance it become a problem. Soooooo... Since Latte had been on antibiotics so much her natural gut flora is gone. So Corid is controlling the cocci when she's On it. But then it flares up again because there is no natural fighters in her gut to keep it under control. Floragen is a super high powered acidophilus. It's expensive. But it seems like you really want Latte to make it. Then she's worth it.

I'm very sad for your ordeal with her. I know you are doing everything under the sun to help her. But it doesn't seem to be working. At least not permanently. I hope you consider my advice. I'm only trying to help. I give you lots of credit for sticking with this for so long!

Heather: I havent heard of Floragen-I will google it next. As soon as I get home from work I put both of them outside to free range so shes gets a couple hours a day. I have also been giving fermented feed and Kefir milk (yes the good stuff from the store-buy it pretendng its for me but its really to sneak them both some LOL)

In between Corid treatments I have been giving her vitamins. As soon as I hit the 7-10 days with this duramycin, I am going to switch back to one more dose of the Corid. Do I need to wait until done with both of these to treat her with Eprinex? As the last fecal sample showed round worm eggs. (SHe said 2 in the sample-not sure if that is over any normal worm load? But might explain the lack of weight gain)

Apparently you have to 'friend' the organizer Carrie Norton and then you can bid/comment on the items. She made the album public but I guess that's not good enough for FB. I have bid on one of the chicken pulls and a pair of earrings. really tempted to bid on the pretty silver dangly earrings but have a budget to think about too. The auction goes til Aug 5, I'll probably post again to remind folks about it. Many thanks to all who have placed bids thus far, all proceeds go right to Julie!! The co-pays for all those appts are really adding up for them already.

Hey all--in for a break from gardening...

Yep. Having your neck broken does suck. Big time.

This makes me think of a time when I was helping a woman with only one leg (NOT Frenchie!) I was doing her laundry and I said that the machine must have eaten a few socks...I was SO EMBARASSED! (typo intentional!)

And of course it is time to fly out the door........ I think I want to be a stay at home mom again........

I don't think it is necessary to vaccinate home hatched chicks.. they are more immune to whatever you have on your place than chicks brought in from elsewhere.. IMHO

At least one of them is laying eggs..

I gave my neighbor 5 chickens of mine Tuesday night after we helped him finish up his coop, all have been free ranging at my place for months...

How long does he need to keep them in the coop/enclosed yard before he can safely let them out and know they will come back to his coop to roost? (4 are about 3 months old and one hen is 2 years old).

I told him to let them out tomorrow while he can supervise, and to keep training them to a "treat" call with bread etc.

I try to leave mine in at least 2 weeks...of course sometimes they have different ideas!

I didnt care for the "cereal grains" ingredients. After I heard that they were from "people food" I stopped using it. I didnt understand Twain's explanation of how they got the grains before all the added stiff was put in...I like regular ingredients like: corn, oats, soybeans....
