Just back from the preschool open house tonight. Tomorrow my 3 year old goes to his first day of preschool. Sniff, where did my babies go? Thomas, big boy, starts Friday in 4K. Both boys are excited, they love their preschool.

Chickies all tucked in, did well through the heat. Moved the chick bator chicks outside and they're doing well in the broody/brooder house.

Hellish few weeks at work, weird...typically back to school time is a lull at work, but I've been double booked for weeks, trying to keep my head above water. Records are beginning to pile up, worked til midnight last night to try to get yesterday's records done, still only made it through 2/3. Sigh. Darn paperwork. Takes longer to record what you didthan to actually do it.

Isnt THAT the truth! The paperwork AND the kids growing up too soon!

I went out to get the dogs in,,,I heard a cat meowing. I looked inside to see if I had the requisite amount of cats...check. So I went outside with a dish of cat food to see what I could see...well after about 10 mins of calling the most beautiful calico came out of the trees...she is now tucked in safe and sound in a kennel in the barn...yes, she appears to be pregnant...oh why do I do this to myself?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Anybody in need of kittens?

Terri, how do you think I ended up with 4 littermates? Some jerk dropped their preggo cat off 2 days before she belched forth with 6 kitties.... and of course we only managed to find homes for two. They have been great cats though...... they keep me company anyway, I think the remaining two miss their siblings.

I know that feeling too, Mel. A friend had a pregnant momma show up in his yard. I helped him catch them all, then found homes for the 2 girls (one for mom, one for sis). I ended up keeping the 3 boys. But I wouldn't trade them for anything. They are the sweetest, most lovable furbabies you could ever hope for.

Littermates are the best.
