Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Miller your black looks about the same as my Lav Orp Gandolf right now from the molt. He looks so horrible when he's usually so prim, he's my profile photo. Those blue Langshans are very pretty.

2 chicks have hatched. One is black and the other is a blrw chick, both Wyondottes though. The last looks like it's going to be a few more days yet before hatch. I'll get photos once they dry out.

Here is a molting Gandolf

BLRW chick which looks like it's going to be a not so nice splash.

One on right is a BLRW x Light Brahma. Hope it's a pullet but suspicions say cockerel. Bad photo he wouldn't sit still.

My BLRW Pullet, she's the nicest I have although not the best.

Bbp, I am so sorry about your chick.

Carol, I of coarse immediately brought your proposition to scott. He has not said no! Lol he wonders how big he is and if he can see a pic. As do I! The lady told me he has been wormed. But I will do my studies. I like the cooler idea. But wonder ifBrownie would be more interested in chewing on the styrofoam. Finally found something that scares him today. The garbage can being drug behind scotts truck lol!

Lisa, that is such a good idea about the molt pics! Your poor langshen roo!! I love the blue! I have a thing for chickies in that color.

Thanks for the tidbit on fodder viki! I will share with scott :)

Bigz, how are the new babaies? Ours are awesome! They are super friendly!

Evening All...nice pics, thanks for sharing them!

Busy Bow Hunting every day now. it sure is a special place back in the woods.. been seeing bucks every night...time will tell if Mr Goodboy comes along.

Yep, my brahmas are really doing well cuties. You can really tell these birds have been handled a lot. My cockerel actually dwarfs my Buckeye and Blue Ameraucana roosters, they look like bantams along side him. The pullets aren't bashful one bit, and love boss treats daily. My cockerel is quite the talker and is going to be boss for sure.

Sure can feel Fall in the air now. The Maples are starting to shed their leaves....tons of free bedding will be raked in the near future. It works well in the coops and runs...and it's free. Then later it goes into the gardens to improve the soil some more.

Have fun...Be Safe...bigz

Well, we have a girl.......Lily (the rabbit). She is out in the garage acclimating to life outside of the house. She is easy to pick up and hold...bonus. I think, however, that she hasn't had the same food varieties that Mr. Gibs has had as she eats only rabbit food and hay and drinks out of a water bottle. She will think she's in heaven once she moves into the coop!

congrats on the new addition!

Hii all--great visit with Amy and Mason today! I took some pics of the scary stuff her husband has and makes--YIKES! Ethan was so cute, he ran up to the car and when I rolled down the window he said "I forgot to give you a hug!" Cartman was a funny guy too. The baby is adorable (or course) He was very tired though and when I tried to squeeze his cheeks he cried...I was sad!

Lisa--I took some pics the other day of the Langshans and totally forgot to post them. I saw Amy's pullet today and that reminded me...here they are. So hard to get decent shots as they kept running back and forth and jumping on the crate.

Then the same day I had taken pics of the parents of Vicki's birds. These guys were totally unlike the Langshans...I think they thought they should pose! They were following me around all the time I had the camera--little hams!

Mom and a son/x(Roland) from last year.

I have to laugh at the pics of the molters...mine are looking like it will be over soon, although I still have quite a few with missing tails! Speaking of tails: OOPS--they loaded backwards again..First HEADS!

And NOW tails! LOL!

THe royal palm is looking very good lately after having virtually NO tail for quite some time! The head shot is of my Naragansett. Both birds are 4 years old now.

Well there! I have finally posted those pics. I now think I need to hit the hay...I dont know how DH does it; driving makes me TIRED!
Have a good night! TerriO

(PS) Cuties...go right for the heated water bucket. You can use the same one all year, you just roll the cord up into the bottom of it. I have found that all the drop in type heaters must give off just enough current in the water for horses to sense it...mine wont drink out of a tank that has one!

Well the bottom Langshan is a roo for sure. The others are in such weird poses that it makes it hard to tell what is going on with them, lol. They look pretty rough...I guess we shall see how they turn out. I am seeing some bad toplines in the bunch, but I can't tell because they are all wacked out poses. I guess we shall need to see some pictures in another month. These are a few weeks older than yours and full brothers and sisters.

The roosters tails come up high as they get more dominant. These guys were born May June timeframe.
