I had to google 'martens'.. why do these weasely things have to be so cute in photos. No matter how cute they may be, whatever we trap is in big trouble!erinnoie: Sorry to hear about your ducks - we also have kennel panels and big pheasant netting over the top. But after reading Jim's post, I'm now worried about weasels or martens. I'm assuming they will dig under the kennel panel and not sure edging with patio block will help. I may be closing their little coop doors to the run from now on. What are/were the red roosters you butchered? We have Rhode Island Red hens and are thinking of hatching RIR's next year when one of the hens goes broody
We have an open run.. will look into netting. My sister has seen a hawk a couple times, luckily without any birdy thefts.
The red roos were sold to us as chicks as RIR (off CL), but it may be some kind of mix with RIR. We got a pretty random bunch of breeds that day.
