Hey all! I have been working like crazy trying to get ready to go on my scrapbook weekend...at least I KNOW this one will happen! Pretty much all the same stuff I did in the middle of January. Had to take a break...my hands are sore from making Calico Salsa and all that cutting. I am heading to the vet as soon as I am done here. Meds needed for two dogs.
Speaking of dogs...my foster Pearl was a complete turd last night when a family came to see her! Brat--I just know she wants to stay here....NOT! Needless to say they didnt take her...

I will change the bash number BL--I thought I was right...first one was at Hartman Creek in 2010 yeah...I cant count! Have we really been at camp for three years? I think I can only remember two...

(PS) JJ, I made some delicious chili with that venison last night! DH even said it might be one of the best I have made. He doesnt usually like my chili cause it doesnt hurt when you eat it!

first year we had it at that picnic area next to the small pond..

I think this will be the 4th year at the church camp..


at the church camp:
1st year I slept in the bunk house... remember ? the turnoff was marked by balloons ?.
2nd year I slept in my Blazer parked away from the lodge
3rd year I slept in my Blazer parked next to the kitchen door..

Good job Jim...DH said the same as me...then we remembered the other spot we parked in. So now that I have "proof" I will go and change the number! LOL!

The young boy (about 11 or 12) from across the road was just here. He got a husky for his birthday a few weeks ago and it took off tonight. These are the folks that I had the sheriff out to check on the dog as it barked all day and all night in that first spell of bitter cold. I feel bad for the kid and the dog--no tags on it; at least it's not as cold tonight. Told him to call the sheriff and he asked why. Some people shouldnt have animals I guess....

I got my salsa made, the cornbread ingredients mixed and the potatoes scrubbed and in the Nesco for the weekend. Now I need to pack my stuff out to the car after chores tomorrow and I am gone on vacation!
Well, I guess I better fix that number and then see what the problem is with the checking account...no $$$ AGAIN!

(PS) yes Cuties, the pipes unfroze without incident, but the well is still not working and now neither is the washing machine!

Dexter was adopted today!!!!!

I am so happy for him! I am also glad he has a new lease on life and can do what he should do: be a dog!

Yep, Jim sleeps around at camp!

So does my husband! LOL I think he likes to go just for the sleep! BTW....he's getting his time off request in this week already! Now all we have to do is find someone to take care of Neil and the chickens. Jon will be long gone on the road by then. Might be nice to make sure we have a running vehicle too.

Where along the border are you?

I attempted to post a response to this 2x last night... but I can see from the continuing thread this morning that it didn't get posted. - Computer issues.

I am near where I-90 crosses into WI.

I get over to Rockford bout twice a year for a soccer competition. I'm east of where I-94 crosses the border, so we aren't too far.

LOL! you are all so funny. All I did was click on your link for the bash Terri, then the next day I was going to check the link, could not find one of your posts, saw that BigZ had a link in his siggy and used that..... which took me to last year's (which said it was the fourth).

Ah yes, not far at all.... don't you get more of the extreme weather throughout the year? More snow, rain, etc. (I work in Waukesha and have co-workers that commute from there)... seems like you get hit with a lot more stuff than we do.

Do most of you have barnyard mixes or pure breeds?

I would be open to raising a specific type of pure breed and then swapping with other pure breeds... do any of you do that?
