Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I have 3 distinctly different breeds so that the chicks look nothing alike.. no confusion when they hatch..

the barred rock chicks are black,, the Delawares are yellowish , and the buff orpingtons are reddish..

We finally got the power back on out there, but had to hair dry a lot of things. I need to come up with better winter process out there as one of the doors is so stuck with ice and snow that is it thought to get in and out.

So on happier news...dd7 decided to change her science project from best growing conditions for plants to hatching chicks...proud momma! So now to get some eggs and run with this! So anyone nearby have pure hatching eggs to share? Hehe

Ah yes, not far at all.... don't you get more of the extreme weather throughout the year? More snow, rain, etc. (I work in Waukesha and have co-workers that commute from there)... seems like you get hit with a lot more stuff than we do.

We have had our share of snow and I'm done with it.
Do most of you have barnyard mixes or pure breeds?

I would be open to raising a specific type of pure breed and then swapping with other pure breeds... do any of you do that?
I don't breed, I only raise for eggs. I do hatch fertile eggs occasionally when I want to add more chickens. I have black orps, a lav orp, a maran x blk orp cross and an unknown at the moment (it's still too young)

It's official, I get to call and sign up for unemployment tomorrow. Back to the drawing board looking for a job. This sucks.

Ditto!

My left ear is hurting tonight. I'm wondering if I have sinus pressure or an infection. I don't have any other symptoms though.

Not much else here. It did get into the 20s today, but the roads were icy on the way home. We also got snow from 1-4pm with not too much accumulation.

Work is crazy frustrating and construction hasn't even started and the profs haven't even returned. What until they find out that I've moved all of the flammables to the basement! They will have a cow, maybe a horse too. Grrrr

CS: LOL! (Hard for me to do right now too!)

Eh, thems the breaks. I'll keep looking, it just means I will end up driving a heck of a lot more. Half an hour is a lot easier than an hour or more. Thanks everyone. As much as this is a PITA, I would much rather be at home than where I was. The baking has GOT to stop though! I am going to pack on the pounds if I keep it up!

CC, you are SO mean.......
