Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Keeping up on the reading. Thanks for all is the useful info :)

Things were super busy this weekend. And next year I believe ni will be utilizing my seniority. He more the kids get involved the busier we are on fair week. And I think I physically will be unable to work 12 hours that week.
Fabio still shows signs of feeling well. We brought his hen home yesterday evening. And he was all over her. I never thought he would beable to hold on with that sore beakm but he had no issues!
A couple of pictures of the kids :)

I have a friend trying to rehome a four year old teddy bear dog that is very sweet but needs to be crate trained etc as he had a doggy door and fenced in a yard. They are moving to Arizona and work has them traveling a lot so they are trying to find him a home. Anyone know anyone interested?

Has anyone ever heard of chicks getting Cocci while on medicated feed? I noticed this morning that there was a pinkish red in the chicks poop. They had access to watermelon yesterday but would doubt that would show up like this even if they had eaten some? Thoughts on what this could be?

I've had red poop before from eating too much watermelon. Maybe that's what happened?
too much information ..

I suggest you don't stare at chicken poop so much..
It is not always going to look the same each time..

drop a few drops of hydrogen peroxide on the poop,, blood will foam up..
However, there might be other things that foam up also, but it is a place to start ..

It is a good thing I did not toss the unhatched eggs out last night.
there are two young uns in the hatcher this morning..

I am working on my pop door today.. I am not going to make a new one..
I decided to use the door that is there,,
there is nothing wrong with it..
now I just have to make something so that I can open it without walking into the chicken yard and all the way around the coop..

I already hung the gate to the big chicken yard..

I think I might get a couple of bags of concrete mix and make a sill for that gate..

Marlene called.. she has a few guineas that she did not sell..
I will go pick up the unsold ones this afternoon..

better get going or I won't get anything done..

Awesome thanks for the input! They aren't showing signs of Cocci at all, I jsut happened to be opening a coop window that is at ground level this morning and a chicken butt was in my face....leaving behind a present with this pinkish red in it. As I walked away, I noticed another chick poop with the same thing. I will try the Peroxide tonight if I see any more.
