Peroxide will react with a lot more than just blood, so even if it foams it might not be due to blood. I bet it was the watermelon. Feed them beets and see what happens.....

but if you get no reaction, then you possibly could rule out blood.. ??

I just went and picked up 8 guineas from Marlene,, she has sold over 100 for me this summer..
I think she is fed up with dealing with people.. she lets it bother her when people tell her she is charging too much.. $5,oo for a half grown guinea is a bargain,,
they are more than $6.oo in the chicken catalogs,, and you have to take a certain amount,, usually 25.

Zion too. They have researched and come to a point of E.Coli...... Don't they know that you can get E.coli from store bought foods too? Ugh!

Crappy day today. 2 different doctors appt today. The first was the arthritis doctor and they gave me a shot on the palm side of my index knuckle. Ouch. I almost passed out. They had to lay me down with a cold wash cloth. Joints are sore this evening for sure. Second doc was the eye doc. My allergy issues are still present, but I am allowed to wear my contacts again.

CS, you can get E.coli just going to the beach (as you well know). Silly people, just let them know all the places a person can come in contact with E.coli. They do not have a ban on keeping turtles do they? You can get Salmonella from turtles........

Hydrogen peroxide will bubble on anything that contains the enzyme catalase, which is found in most living cells. So you pour it onto anything containing bacteria, blood, etc it will foam up.

Wonderful beach day! Planning on another tomorrow!

good morning,

yesterday afternoon I turned all the nursery chicks loose for awhile .. they seemed to enjoy it.. I just now turned them all loose again,,

I tossed some bread at them for a treat.. they think that bread should be avoided at all cost.. I let the older chickens come in and show them what to do with the pieces of bread.. they still didn't catch on. oh well..

I took the pop door off.. will add a counter weight to it to see if it will swing all the way closed..

I found some small pulleys at Menard's.. if I can get the door to stay shut on it's own, I will rig up the pulleys and a rope to open it..
