Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

MG, just don't get a Whirlpool or Kenmore FL washer....... I have heard nightmare stories about those.....

I hear you on the rain. Our soil is so sandy it does not hold moisture well, and right now at least the top 18 inches are dry.....

Going to head over to the in-laws later today and see if we have any baby ducklings!

Blue I was with you but then realized you have a rooster and there is no city that is going to allow a rooster within its limits, perhaps had you only hens you could have slid under the radar.
Ya, if only mine was all pullets, then they could have gone by un notice
Bluekimchi- I think its ridiculous that other people get to decide what we do on our own property. I don't care what state you live in. It comes down to the simple fact that there are too many people on this planet, living too close together, with nothing better to do than complain about what their neighbor has going on. My property line is the city limit line. I am zoned agricultural, so can have whatever I want fir livestock. But no chickens allowed in the city. People have complained about the noise, but really there's nothing they can do about it. If they could, I would move. But pretty soon there will be nowhere to go. There will be subdivisions filled with people making ridiculous rules about every little thing everywhere you go. I'll have to move to the Tundra or some other place to get away. Lol
Agreed, that it's ridiculous we can't decide to have or do what we want on our own property.

And here are my birds that, that not so nice neighbor called me on for

They are very unique.

Thank you

The 3rd pic and down are not current(taken back in April earlier this year back home). 3rd pic is actually an Ayam Cemani cockerel from wolfwhyte, though not perfect(not very dark skin and does not have black mouth, comb/wattles), since he hasn't been working on them and sold them cheaply at an affordable price and the rest of the pics are of the Hmong pullets.

I did do a search. It said cull the duck or cut it off. I didn't just pull that idea out of the air. And the deed is done. I cut off about an inch, that's what was dead already. Its back in now. I just have to prevent infection.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Today I finally felt better. I had a few moments of dizziness and tiredness, but I didn't take a nap!!!! I did have more blood work done today, so I've got to wait for those results.

DD13 is home, well kind of, she is at a friends house for the night. Those of you with teenagers, please share stories with me of how your kids switched from loving kids to someone that doesn't like you. I really need to feel better.

Otherwise, I went to see a kid play of Wizard of Oz and then got cheese ice cream. Yum!!!

Oh yea! Air conditioning is working again...Theo tore the wiring from the unit!
hope your test turn out well
Theo is turning into a regular Mr Distructo. He needs more to do.
how about an activity center?
For Cookie, she gets water bottles and milk jugs filled with all kinds of things like dirt, rocks, and water.
I also give her old feed bags to drag around. The yard looks a mess but so far she has not destroyed anything.

chickenscratch: Sorry to hear your not feeling well. I hope you have a quick recovery. I must have missed your post about this; Drs dont know whats wrong?

Cuties: Thanks! Crossing my fingers it will help build up some immunity!
It does not build immunities. Just read on what it does for the chicks.
If you are having cocci issues, give them the cocci boosters and vaccines you can purchase.Adven is a new vaccine that has good reviews on the *Poultry Site*

Back from vacation. I will never leave again!
ALL my chicks I brought home from the swap are dead and my layers that were hatching in the bator were never pulled and ALOT of those were dead and rotting. The bator smells like pure death rotten and my chicken room also. NEVER NEVER NEVER leave again. My SIL was taking care of things. And my BLRW roo from CS is also dead. Gah, that's all I have to say for now. Trying to catch up on the posts.
yikes..
you seem to get it in spades girl..I wish I lived closer.

Hi Cheeseheads,

I'm new to WI, just recently move from CA to the Cheese Head state.

I've brought along three(2 females & 1 roo) of my started 4-5 month old Fibro melanistic chickens with me here from Cali. I currently reside in Milwaukee, the city is nice it self and all the neighbors for the most part(the neighbor next door called neighborhood watch on us because of our chickens

) and now I must find them a new home to keep them at(have 14 days to compile).

Main point i'm here asking is to look for someone who lives in a more rural area close by(say 20-35 minutes from me) with some spare plot of land/barn room for rent. I don't need much, it's only 3 chickens for now and when ever they breed, then there will be some more, but not much. Land i'm looking for is, say 10' x 10' or 10' x 20' area.

I'm really desperate to find them a new place to keep them before the inspector comes back in 14 days. The male it self is very rare,so I didn't want to just get rid of him.

Please let me know ASAP if you have spare land or barn room/space for me to keep my precious chickens at. I'm not asking to keep them there for free, but lease room board/land(let me know your price to rent land/barn room per a month too). So help a fellow chicken fancier out please!

Thanks you and BTW, i'm in the village called Menomonee River Hills?

Blue
Hello Blue..
If you purchase a portable coop you can bring them here..I have a place they will be ok. I am NPIP so they have to be away from my chickens. Give me a call.

I live about 20 minutes away

hopefully he will be OK
