Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good sunday eve,

I just sent 15 baby chicks to a good home,,

I know a boy who is looking to sell a Sebastopol
gander,, white.. don't know the age..(of the goose)
here is your chance to get one that you always wanted..

had fresh raspberry pie for dessert tonight.. and I was doing so well on my diet ..

It got down right cold after the couple of showers we had,,
I still have not had to water the garden yet.

lightning hit pretty close last night and put out the lights momentarily ..

speaking of lights, tonight I better turn on some in the brooder pen for the really small chicks .

I turned off the heat in the nursery today.. there are a couple of quite young chicks in there too, but I think they can keep warm enough by huddling ..

BL too late I did purchase the Kenmore... I checked Consumer reports and was all set to get the top rated model but it is HUGE does like 20 towels, which with just the two of us now we do not need so I got the smaller unit. I understand they are not rated well but thinking I have a year to put it through its paces... The lemons I read about go right away....
CS I would mention the "change" as sweating possiblity, but not dizziness, could there be an inner ear issue? Maybe doctor could give you a referral to an ENT Perhaps if you are have allergy issues there is fluid build up, just a thought.
Well we had a couple of cloud bursts so I do not have to water and the sky is clear blue again, but it is cool feeling fallish already.
Thought my hens were molting but maybe it is mites? They look pretty raggedy and missing feathers around the neck breast area. Found a little itty bitty bug in the nest box so I dusted with DE. Also bought some Feather Fixer it will help with either problem I am thinking.
Night all!
just had a funny thought,, I was attached to ENT Air Force Base in Colo, when I was in the army. Ear Nose Throat never crossed my mind about it before just now..

Hi All!

Sclark..... Wow! I would NOT have wanted to be around when you got home!

poor duck.

CRS and the rest.

The eggs that Storky had didn't hatch.

Jasmine and Storky are my best broodies, have no idea what happen this year. Maybe because the eggs were birds I really wanted!

So, I wound up with 3 little mutts from Pepper and I'm not sure but I'm thinking 2 Amer. from Jasmine. They are little silvery grey chicks.

Night All!

Thanks for the sympathies everyone. CS I'm so sorry about your roo!! I feel horrible that I let someone who I thought could care for them watch over and it back fired. I sold all of my layer chicks today, all 80 of them. I'm doing a sale buy 2 get 1 right now so glad to get them a home right away. So far over 20 chicks have hatched, a BO, 4 Lav orp with 2 Lav and 2 black, 1 SS, about 14 BLRW and a few EE, a few more in bator drying. I will have a roo to pick of my stock if I don't find one elsewhere as these chicks are still out of Hepheastus. I emailed a few people I know who have good stock but no reply yet. Trying to decide if I'm going to set one more batch of the layer chicks. I have another swap coming the 23rd so I have time to get them set to hatch, just not sure I want to deal with it after such a mess this year with losing big batches although I have so many people that love those layers that I know I won't be stuck with growing them out.

Hope everyone is well or getting better.

Hi i dont live far from you. I from Abrams also. Looking to buy some hens if you have any to part with. My rooster lost his girl, and is upset. Just be glad to find him someone. He is lavender orphington. My other hens are kinda old for him, he just year old. Look forward to hearing from you.

good afternoon,

I got up early and went to the feed mill and got their special broiler blend for fattening up chickens.

then I went to Brian's and picked up my feather plucker..

I have a hole to fix in the chicken yard fence, and then I am going to transfer the meat chicks into the main chicken coop..

the chicken yard is overgrown with weeds and blackberries.. I wonder how long it will take the chickens to clean that mess up ?
I should take a ..before and after picture..

Hope everyone has had a good and productive summer

Welcome Afternoon to All, and to the new Cheeseheads...hope you enjoy our family of friends...

Momgille...the training is quite intense and it's for type 2 firefighters for starters....just google Nationial Firefighters and the pdf file will show.....my daughter can print gps maps for folks on the ground...while my son in law can handle a chain saw....not everyone is equal...it all has to do with training requirements....it starts like usual...at the bottom...the more training...the more rights...hope this made sense....different areas, offer the training.....my loved ones trained on the Menominee Indian reservation.

Sorry to hear about some problems...hope it gets better from here....

The gardens are producing well....maters, broccoli, zukes, beans, beets.....and pickles on the near pic....

Peace....bigz
