cs, sorry to hear and hope you'll get better soon!

BBP: ouch! I'm not sure I could have done that to one of my duckies. But better that way than having to cull him!

Stacie: why didn't you say anything? I probably could have gone down and checked on everyone. Not sure if it helps but try to spraying with straight vinegar. Yes, it might smell a bit at first, but probably better than what you have right now! Worth a try as I know it helps with urine from all kinds of animals.

Other than that not much new here. Besides the intermittent downpours today after the hot day yesterday.

Just wish I could find someone to want some of my drakes, as we don't cull/butcher our birds. I couldn't get over doing that. Plus, nobody wants our accidental Rouen ducklings. And we deaperately need some money for bills. Have them on buy/sell/trade here, on CL and on FB. Not sure what else to do. Urgh...

Momma and her ducklings are doing fine. They grow so quickly! Just some more babies to find some homes for. And today we had to chase her sister off the daily eggs as she decided now that she'd like to go broody. We surely don't need any more birds right now!

Oki, rant over. But if anyone knows of someone for one or more 3 month old drakes please let me know. Off to do more chores. Later...

Oxine would maybe work for cleaning the bator out.

I got a picture of the cardinal with the nest outside my kitchen window. I wish the babies would have been sticking out better. But I will keep working on getting a better picture. They grow so fast. I only have like 5 more days before they leave the nest.

Smells like rain, looks like rain,....... and we get sprinkles. We need a day long downpour here.

No babies yet, getting closer, the air cells are getting bigger. We are guessing on the hatch date since we have no idea when she started setting.... I am thinking middle of the week sometime. Of the 10 eggs there was one dud that I pulled. The rest look good!

BBP, glad your drake is doing better.

Jim, I would like to point out that I thought an attempt should be made to SAVE the poor ducks dignity before hacking away....... ;)

Since the EAA is having their big shindig this week, there are planes practicing at the local airport. The kids and I were treated to a nice airshow on our way home from the duck visit.

Hey guys :)
we have baby calls! 7 of them. So cute. Had friends out most of the weekend. Was relaxing to have the time off.
Clark, I wish I could help you out. I soldnall of our pairs that we are not going to use. I have one blrw roo left. Along with blackie. I would probably beable to spare a chick. They are too young tontell whT I have on thag batch yet. But you probably have chicks of your own. I am so sorry to hear about how badly nthings went while you were gone.
Cs, how are you feeling?
bbp, goodnluck with the drake.
Blue, hopenthings work out at dels place :)

I am still alive, but with nothing beyond mild anemia as a diagnosis. I do feel a lot better and have energy, but still experiencing random dizziness and sweating.

Sclark my poor roo! I'm so sorry to hear about all of your chicks. I wish I had another roo for you!

Blue- your birds are beautiful and although I agree that they aren't perfect for their breed, they have great potential. I hope Delisha's house works out for you!

Deli-Theo is definitely bored. I have a variety of toys, but he likes to create his own. We might have the garden issue under control as Gpa beat him with a zucchini and now he runs away from the sight of one! We are getting there. He is 98% good with the chickens. If I could get him past mouthing everything, getting into the garden, and running out of the yard.....he wouldn't be bored! We did get him a pool. We put a whiffle ball in it and he'll dive under for it!

DD13 and I played cards yesterday and unloaded a U-Haul full of stuff for band camp up in Williams Bay today. It's been a long day, but I got a couple of hugs and kisses in and "I love you's" back.

My neighbor has a roo in his garage and e said it is a round head. Does anyone know of this?

BL too late I did purchase the Kenmore... I checked Consumer reports and was all set to get the top rated model but it is HUGE does like 20 towels, which with just the two of us now we do not need so I got the smaller unit. I understand they are not rated well but thinking I have a year to put it through its paces... The lemons I read about go right away....
CS I would mention the "change" as sweating possiblity, but not dizziness, could there be an inner ear issue? Maybe doctor could give you a referral to an ENT Perhaps if you are have allergy issues there is fluid build up, just a thought.
Well we had a couple of cloud bursts so I do not have to water and the sky is clear blue again, but it is cool feeling fallish already.
Thought my hens were molting but maybe it is mites? They look pretty raggedy and missing feathers around the neck breast area. Found a little itty bitty bug in the nest box so I dusted with DE. Also bought some Feather Fixer it will help with either problem I am thinking.
Night all!
