Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

huntress I feel your migraine pain, am just getting over a 3 day bender myself. they are horrible. I have daily meds that occassionally fail me, pulling through now though. is such a glorious feeling to feel "normal" again.

well we still have 9 unaccounted for chickens, another came home last night, i'm still hopeful more will show, and my lone rooster finally crowed again this morning so maybe they'll head towards him.... on a sad/crazy note my kids found another body yesterday.... with the sitter (who sent me a text...) it was burried in the sandbox....

my poor boys! sitter said it was like a crime scene... just the leg was sticking straight out of the sand.... my son's cochin "Spinosaurus" (Spiny for short) (we'd read a book stating how dinosaurs and chickens were related and hence the name, Spiny was a hen). anyhow, he took it well enough, was sad...

so new question, do I hatch this year yet or wait till next spring?

Thank you for the welcome! No rain for us here

. I'm thinking I will have to set up some plastic over the tomato patch to gather a little heat for them - like I have been doing for the sweet potatoes.

Morning all!
kv, I am still hatching this year. Yes. Crazy. I am cutting off shortly. I want them to be big enpugh to take the winter. And I think I am pushing it. Go for it.

I really wish I would have handled it differently. I should have made him disappear. But at the same time I would like some type of payment for the birds I have lost. Her kids aren't home this week so I would expect that little monster to be kept under control for at least a few more days.

good evening,, in a minute I have to lock up the chicks.. but first checking in here..

I dragged the dead furrow out pretty good,, then put the back blade on and rough graded the slope. The ground is still plenty wet so it is quite clumpy .. but the general shape is there..
I might have to break down and use the roto tiller on it to smooth it out good enough for lawn..

I banged away at the birch stumps a bit with the tractor loader.. they are still pretty hard.. after about 8 years.. anybody got a stump grinder ?
