Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

hi all,

so another chicken found it's way home last night, crazy.... it was one of our little buff silkies that was injured prior to the "raid".... no clue how it survived, it was WAY over by the pond, i'm doing chores, Geo, (our roo) starts to crow from the coop, I stopped to listen and see if I could hear someone else reply, and I see this tiny silkie walking across the yard towards me... wtheck??? went and picked her up and put her in the coop, she drank and ate and was ok this morning... still gimpy as prior to the "raid" but ok. guess we'll see if any more show up? getting late in the game tho... 8 still unaccounted for now...

huntress, finally took a referral to a neurologist to get me something to help. they are horrible horrible things. (migraines).

so I am totally eyeing up egg sites, think I have my new silkie eggs in site (splash eggs) and some cochins as well.... getting a little "eggcited!"

Well after not being able to stay awake I ended up pulling into one of the Dells exits and crashing for a few hours. Finally got some pictures but I'm so tired yet so this is quick. Their are 5 pullets and 1 cockerel. I'm seriously thinking about having Tyler enter them down in Portage but that would mean staying there the whole weekend as I'm not driving back and forth and I just can't leave home for that long after the last incident. I will do individual photos later on when I recoup from the trip.
Anyhow, here they are, hope you enjoy!

Hi All!

Wow, you guys got some nice looking birds!

I some cheap waterers off of CL, the people are moving and selling all the farm stuff bit by bit. I wish they had more to offer when I was there.

Didn't see my other hen turkey when I did chores, Hope she wondered home later.

I saw a hawk with a couple of young ones in the back field.... hope the stay waaaaay back! It was kinda cool to watch and listen to them, she would make a call and they would come and swoop.

That's it.... night all!

good morning, it seems that I am on a new schedule,, going to bed before midnight and waking uup at 5 AM.. I will be ready for a nap by noon..

Mel, did you find enough wine to make the pain go away ?
Maybe you should contact the Governor, he must have a long list of jobs by now..

Cind, even though those hawks are potential visitors, it must still be neat to watch something like that.. we can't hate the birds and animals,, just hate the times they come a callin'..

Stacy, are those birds a sanctioned breed ? You might not be able to enter them at Portage ..

The color isn't a recognized APA color yet but Tyler could enter them into the Junior fair. i'm not sure about open class as I've never personally shown chickens before, only the kids.

I think an unrecognized variety of a breed can be shown (and must be shown in order to become recognized) but can't place any higher than BV...Best of Variety.
I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
