i am thinking butchering day is coming soon,, have about 10 young chickens to do.. I don't want them too big..

went fishing yesterday,, 26 inch Northern, 26 inch catfish, two 11 inch crappies..
normally don't keep small northerns like that, but I haven't had one for a long time..
bro Dave said he would clean the fish, so I kept the catfish , too..

Cind, there won't be much left of your hen turkey,, if anything at all.. probably a fox or coon ..
fox would carry it away,, coon would eat it right there if they are not disturbed ..

coons would have eaten the eggs, too..

doing some research on pex tubing..
picked up nephew's tools last night.. crimper etc,,,,

Jim, PEX is pretty easy. Hubby says easy to cut to length and easy to crimp on the ends. I have a problem with the tools - not enough power to crimp it if the angle is not good to get some leverage for me.

after my nephew bought my mother's (his grandma's) house, we changed out all of the water lines to PEX.. and we rewired the whole house also..

when Dad bought the house in 1943, there was no bathroom, and only two electrical receptacles .
one upstairs, and one downstairs..

this is an eight room house..

I have no problem crimping the rings.. I let one of the muscular nephews do it ..

I have the fish soaking ,, getting ready to mix up the corn flour coating ..

I let Gus loose for awhile today,, I stayed with him outside for awhile,, then brought him into the house.. he wanted to go out again so I let him,, he stayed on the yard,, and then after a little while he laid down near his coop, so I snapped the chain onto him again..

If cuties does not have SLW I can sell mine. I have four hens and a cock. Three of the hens and cock birds are two and I have a POL Pullet from Mays chicks. The POl might be SQ. She is really nice.

Fish Fry Friday Again....how the time flies! Nice to be having fresh fish Jim...I have a method for filleting all the bones from the Northerns. I end up with 8 boneless fillets. I've had Winters in the past on Shawano Lake with over 100 keepers....simply great eating....enjoy your fresh fish....it's Econo foods cod loins here tonight.

The Foley boys came today and the hatching eggs.

All the Ameracauna eggs(I don't believe them to be true as one looks oe and rest just EE) have detached aircells. The WW are all attached but 2 saddled. How long do I leave them sit before puttingbin bator?
