Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Ok DH got the snow plowing thing worked out...they weren't paying him right. He should have it all fixed by next check. Whew.

BL4) Because I work well under stress
smile.png
Actually, I work BEST under stress. I was in school full time, working full time and had my baby boy all going on up until last year when we got laid off. Got A's in mostly everything I did. I have a very strict homework schedule and didn't get the best sleep ever, but I made it
smile.png
DH was very supporting. It doesn't work for everybody, and I doubt it will work for me for much longer
wink.png
But, if I want what I want in my life, I know what I have to do to get it and...that's the only way!

Becky) Can you share that bread recipe?

Mag) I hope you feel better!!

I'm going to get this little tyke in bed now, and go over finances! Yaaaay fun! Sucks not getting the amount you thought, now I won't be able to pay off those big bills, but at least there will be a dent

Such 30-worry...I had big plans to be in great shape for my 30th. I got a shape all right, a 4-month-pregnant one!

Because you asked, I think Bigz's camp would be a great place for the Bash. Sounds like awesome facilities and price. Oh, and Julie's in too, barring any schedule conflicts. Really anywhere central in the state is just fine, unless we want to rotate areas each year (N, S, E, W). I wonder if we'll ever find the perfect place someday?

Yesterday was a sad one, DH found my favorite cat lying in the snow near our property line. He had dashed out of the house a week ago and hadn't been back. There wasn't a mark on him, I don't know what happened. Maybe poison? Goodbye my Jerry

Well folks, watch out for 'ol man Winter.

Well I am a glutton for punishment.. I just found an ad for some chickens for sale.. SO yes i did email , and yes I am getting them.
I just got 2 roosters rehomed, and am now getting another, but he is a blue cochin, and I am getting 3 hens, 2 cochin hens, and a golden seabright.
SO I need help. I am addicted to chickens!! LOL

Almost sounds like me! LOL Though the back to school for me was at 32 and my 3rd was 2. My husband (at the time) worked 2nd shift so homework didn't even start 'till about 10p.m., took a break (haha) when he got home so I could feed him. More homework, a few hours of sleep (If I was lucky). Had 2 P.T. jobs too!

I will say, though most memorable time was when I had to explain that my dog ate my term paper

.... and my daughter (the 2yr old) fed it to her

!!!! I did bring a few soggy scraps to show him...

Would like to hear from cd on the Wild West camp think that's where he works. Well we got the big shack out there yesterday. Bff got a 37" northern about 5 minutes after dropping a line after that it was pretty slow. Think the post front and the northerns were the culprets. But we got a maybe 10 crappies that fit BFF's standards. He's been keeping the 8-9" and I refuse to keep anything under 9". Told him I like meat with my batter. Going to try and get the tax/flood crap wrapped up today. Been kinda depressed over the whole thing lately. Guess it's only natural plus the time of year doesn't help. It'll pass. Forgot to bring in wood yesterday afternoon so I went out to get a wheelbarrow load and when I turned on the outside light both Buster and Peatwo started crowing. So that made me laugh the whole time I was out there. Have a Good one!

Oh, speaking of birthdays...I completely forgot (I'm such a bad BYC friend!!!)

Terri O's b-day was yesterday, probably why she wasn't on. Hopefully someone was treating her well that day!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TERRI O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the birthday wishes! No I was at work....but that is not the reason I was off a few days...I tried to sign in on our other puter but my password wasnt working...(SOMETHING peed on my laptop and fried it the other day!!!

) So I am using the communal family computer right now...at least I could get into here! I have been reading and so frustrated that I cant post!!!

Well, my brilliant husband quit his job today...I guess he had the right--they wanted him to take a 50% pay cut! But still, a job is a job right now right? I am still floored and frustrated...I think I am resenting my lack of a quiet house lately....it is TIME for the college kids to go back to school. And now Dh will be home ALL THE TIME! (sorry--just had to vent)

I am so glad that some of the "older" members have chimes in with all this birthday discussion...I was beginning to think that I was the oldest female here! I turned 49
ep.gif
Yesterday!!!! Next year might be harder....but maybe not. I think my hardest was 40...but maybe it was 30...I cant really remember (yet another reason it is good to grow "old".) I think I am going to get dressed (finally) and bake some cookies--maybe I will feel better.

THe bash planning is sounding fun...BigZ' camp is aobut 2.5 hours from me DH says. It would be nice to be able to bring horses along...but certainly not necessary! I think the "horsey set" should plan another get together down near ODrH in Palmyra where we were going to have the Fall one...then we could talk chickens on horseback! (YEAH--let's DO it!) Where is that Smiley on horseback anyhow?

Have a fantastic day everyone! Terri O--now o stands for "OLD"

Well Happy Birthday Terri!! You don't look a day over 35.

Glad you didn't have surgery BL4, I thought you looked pretty good at the bash. FM- Im glad you stopped in and I agree with DrHa, we miss you around here. Amy- I'm sure it was a great 4 month prego shape.

Sorry to hear about Jerry.
hugs.gif
DrH- good luck with the tax crap. Mag- hope you feel better Sorry if I forgot someone. Well we won our game last night. We are undefeated!! That is unhear of for our little school. So proud of those girls. Well I'm off to a PTO meeting. Later Tators!

Oh Raiquee-I motified it as it's for a bread machine
1 1/4 cups lukewarm milk
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tblsp white sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 tblsp butter
2 tsp active dry yeast

Now I warmed the milk on the stove (my grandma said to do this as the micro does something to the milk) and dissolved the yeast in it before adding it. I also let it rise twice, punching it down in between. I baked it at 350 for about 40 to 50 mins. Like I said the best bread so far. Don't know what I did different, but it was crusty on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. Bread usually kicks my butt, but this time I nailed it.

Good Evening All... Happy Belated Birthday Terri, I agree with becky, you must of lost count along the way! Hope you get your puter dried out and workin.
Holy Crap Doc, that's a nice northern. Must of been close to 10lbs....

Good eatin there for sure. You were right about that lake being a good one with a fish like that.

Way to go coach with another win. Gotta be feelin good for sure. Did you play when you were in school ? No losses is enough to put a spring in your step.

I was off for another hour treck with the snowshoes. Almost back when Dang I busted 6 deer bedded in a corner of my woods. I walked by them prolly 80 yards away when I started the treck, and then coming back I walked through the thick corner to check out a broken tree top when I chased them off their dry cozy beds. I hate to have them use uptheir needed energy that they need for survival.

Oh Ya, I love it when the grandchildren come and stay, and I also love it when Mom picks them up too! Stay Safe.... ~ bigzio
