Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi all, finished building a new coop. Took a 1978 Nissan Stanza wagon and stripped it to steel, removed the front end and replaced with a tow hitch.

Lots of windows, secure, regular doors up front, both rear doors are sliders and a hatchback.

I'll post some pics in the morning, turned out really well. Can pull it anywhere on the property.

Hi All!

Well, our Ren. Fair guest showed up today and pitched their tents (2) a nice little set up back there. We got them a porta-potty and hooked them up with water and power. We should make a little over $100 a week

The dog, one of the cats and one of the turkeys all went to say hello. They said they're OK with roosters crowing LOL I hope they have earplugs!

Night All!

Good Afternoon all.... great idea for the tractor cheesehead..it should work really well!

Good for you Cind....nothing like friends parked in the backyard...hope you have time to share their good times at the fair...like I've said before...Ahhh to be young again.

Had to open up the road in the woods...more down stuff in the way...more firewood for me.

Stay Safe.. bigz

Yummy Shish kabobs on the grill... Guess it is rain tonight... 10 days won't be getting in the garden in the afternoon because of mosquitoes I am betting... Nice to make some extra cash Cindy hope they clean before they leave!

Hi guys, I think I missed some!
cs, I did not see when Theo needed surgery. Sorry to hear! Is it his bum leg?
busy here! All set up at fair. And our volunteer work is taken care of! Tired already! And still need to show every day through Saturday. We're very excited! Wish the kiddos luck! They are very nervous for sure!!

Hi All!

Well, so much for good neighbors! Our house is as wide as the front of the lot, on one side you can get through if it's not muddy, on the other side there is about 3ft. then the neighbor's drive way and a gate through the privacy fence (ours) that was there when we bought the house. His drive runs right along the lot line. He had told us before we could use his drive as long as we didn't make a habit of it. Well, it's been muddy and more rain coming so we thought instead of going to the muddy side (were guests went before) they could set up on the other side and we would pay the neighbors to use the drive. They came and set up and went to super. When they got back neighbor blocked the drive but guests squeezed through. Went to talk to the neighbor and they didn't answer the door. I woke up to go pee about 9:00 and there was a text on the phone saying it looked like a turkey was hurt. Went out to check and TomTom was DEAD! The guest were gone! I texted them back upset that maybe they had done something. They said they saw him laying on his side when they left and they left because the "old guy" next door was throwing a fit and going Bat **** Crazy on them!
These people were 1 guy in his early 30's a gal in her late 20's and a women in her 40's. They set up way in the back, on our property, with a fence between them and the neighbor. He wouldn't even be able to see the tents from his house because his large garage was between. They didn't even have a radio on so noise wasn't an issue. They didn't dress weird or anything. Neighbor chose to throw and fit before we even had a chance to talk to him. He could have made some cash. If he chose not to let them through we could have worked out going the other way, but he didn't give us a chance!
Back to the turkey. We think he did it. Neil said he was in the back yard (while I went to town) with a BB gun. Looks like one of our cats got hit in the leg too!

Both were good last night but dead and hurt by 9a.m.
ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS TALK TO US!!!
I don't care what issue you may have with a person, their kids or their pets. Talk to the person who is in charge of them. NEVER take it out on their kids or their animals!

On a happier note.....
A friend of my son's friend (ya I know) is looking for roosters. He has a little farm and is semi-retired. He only has a few animals and he lost his last chickens over a year ago. He doesn't have any poultry left and didn't think he wanted more, however he misses his roosters. He will take any roosters I want to give him. He basically wants bug eating lawn ornaments.

Guess that's it.... Night All

I have 4 teenagers he could have. 2 blue & 2 black orps. I may have 2 adults he could have too, IF I can part with them.

Whereabouts is he located?

What a lousy neighbor Cind....I know it's Joe's line to say this, but ...I hate mean people too! Sorry to hear that it turned out so crummy....we are living in a free country where we should all feel blessed...shame on him....sorry you even had to deal with anything other than Love Your neighbor.

Yep, we love the fresh broccoli with ho-made salsa...or a broccoli salad made with bacon and cheese....frozen stuff doesn't work for that. We do freeze some for soup and it works well to freeze with carrots later in the season for a bi- mixed veggie.

Peace...bigz

Phew. Just back from our annual vacation in Door County. Had a friend's teenager watching the chickens for us -- they seem good.

I did find three wonky eggs under the roosts -- looks like one tiny rubber egg, a full size rubber egg, and a deflated one (like it popped). A couple of my hens are just barely starting to lay, so I'm under the assumption that this is normal and she/they will figure it out...?
