I got most of the parts for my egg-u-bators, this weekend! 3 more = 4 'bators

walmart has igloo coolers (48qt) on sale for $18!

they are a little cheesy but they WILL work for 'bators. got my PC fans gonna go look for AC adapter today and DH will pick up 2 more thermos tonight after work!

then we just gotta put then together!
taxes sent in, looks like the moolah will arrive on DH bday! lol! he'll like that!

I let the birds out for free roam today! IT'S BEAUTIFUL OUT!
gotta run to store and get strawberries and bananas for dunking in ch ch choooocolate!

Raimnel, where do you find those pc fans and ac adapters? how much do they cost ?

DrH , I would think that turkey feathers would work for those whistles, too.. I have about 25 wild turkeys visit just about every day.. maybe one of them would like to donate.. ?? LOL

I've been trying to get a thread going on "meat birds" about electric feather pluckers.. Not much interest shown so far..

I guess people would rather ask over, and over, and over," what should the water temp be for scalding ?" LOL

Hi All!
WOW a lot happened yesterday, or over the weekend.
We don't do V-day. Just don't. HATE IT! and so does he..
That is one of the many things I love about him!

I ended up with 4 chickens from the nice man in Monona, I am keeping 1 hen for him, in case he loses another hen to coons.

So now I have to go get mulch for the muddy driveway. sigh.... more mud!

Decent Weather Afternoon To All.... Happy Valentines. Went to Shawano yesterday for a little shopping. I picked up a package of Rolo's and a carmel milky way for Suzie's present. What a lucky lady, eh! It hasent paid off yet.....what the heck!

Good to hear from Annarie...glad she is gonna make the bash!

BCC thanks for sharing the great pics! Hope your cousin is ok and is able to get a claim with the RR.
They seem to have alot of clout at settlement time.....seems like a bunch of rights they have?

My flock was out and about yesterday and today too! They sure never forget the treats are down at the house....few blades of grass showing by the house and the sidewalk makes for a I'm gonna hang around here kinda deal for them! They sure were singing and talking up a storm!

Hi everyone,

So I have adorable little quail babies running around and my Bengal kitten is doing great. He's still scared but getting better. I also shipped my first eggs today! Hopefully they make it there safely.


I LOVE Valentine's Day. Me and the hubby always go to this fancy restaurant that offers a Valentines Day meal special. It's $45 a person but it includes 5 courses and a different wine paired with each course. Normally we have to go the day before V-day because it's all booked the day of but I talked to the owner and he remembered us so we got reservations today at 5:30 in the main dining area. SOOOO excited. It's the one thing I look forward to each year. See I came from a wealthy real estate family so I grew up on five course meals and fancy stuff. My family was not very happy when I chose love over money and married my factory working boyfriend in a small court house wedding. It was an adjustment for both of us and I learned quickly how to adapt to my new life. I think it keeps our relationship fresh because I have had the chance to experience a lot of neat things and travel while I was growing up. He on the other hand had lived out in the country in a small town and had never even left the state. So it's fun because even little things like going to Applebees was something completely knew for him and he has grown and experienced so many new things. When we first met he said he didn't like anything and refused to try anything. Now he tries everything and his mom always makes jokes about how she couldn't make him try anything for 19 years, and we have been together for a little over 3 years now and I get him to try tons of stuff. Also we have completely flip-flopped. I use to want to travel and be pampered all the time and he wanted to stay home. Now I am the one wanting to stay home and save and he is already planning our next cruise. LOL! So Valentine's Day is one of the days we splurge a little and do something just for us. No kids, No money worries, just us having an amazing night.

Hope you have a good time Goth. I must admitt that I really hate paying that much for one meal. $100 at the meat market or the liquor store would last prolly a month here. I know alot of folks do that kinda thing, but me & suzie just don't think it's worth it. I guess most important for us is that we really don't think we are missing anything by staying home. Just home bodys at heart here!

Forgot to say before that Cind you are right on about the jerky! I was gonna have one piece today and ended up with 7! Turned out great!

What great weather we have been having, I have been looking at ice shacks to convert to a chicken coop, so far they are either made with flake board and will require to be redone or they are out of my price range. I don't want to spend 600.00 on a coop.

Oh my gosh what a wonderful Valentines Day!!!! I hope everyone had a good one as much as I did!

Friday night DH took me out to Hans for the Seafood buffet (for him) and Prime Rib (for me). YUMMY! I went to Hughe's Chocolates on Saturday and picked up Butter toffee, Cherry Cordials, and assorted chocolates (if you ever get the chance, get their chocolates! All handmade right there at the house!)

Tonight we had grilled Country style ribs, homemade creamed corn, and artichokes!!!

GothChick, I know where you are coming from..... when we have to go to weddings on my side of the family, everyone gets a crash course in proper etiquette..... proper fork, napkin placement, what all the silverware is for.......... my DH's side jeans are considered formal wear if they are new and clean....

not that there is anything wrong with that, but it is sometimes a struggle to get him to put a tie on. Frankly I want the best of BOTH worlds, pampering and the hard work!


Kayaking class is going well; I am thinking I have found a new activity for the DH and I to do together since it does not require a lot of leg work (DH has bad knees and a bad hip).

What WONDERFUL weather we are having! Makes me wish I had Sugar Maples to tap...... or get outside in the bikini!

Just kidding, I would not want to scare off the neighbors!

Yeah, whatever happened to KAQ?????

DH got the job !

Goth sounds like you and your DH had a nice time. DH and myself are more like BigZ and his DW, home bodies. We do go out for fish some Fridays but not often.

BL4 and Goth sure sounds like you have the best of both worlds.

BCC sooooooo cute ~can't wait for Spring so I can get a few chicks.

Will pray for your cousin sure hope all will be fine.

We finished the half of the kitchen that was redone and we celebrated that too. We used the same cabinets just moved them after removing a wall. New counter top and an island. Soooo much more room.
