Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good cool fall morning.

not much planned for today.
waiting for the fixit guy to come get Annie's car.
then I will go bowling at 1:eek:o .
come back home and work on the chimney flue. maybe even get it installed..

I hate going up onto the roof. it is always slippery and that makes my hip hurt ..

chickens are settling into regular laying.. 6 to 8 eggs each day ..

now to try to sort out the freeloaders..

the Sagittas are growing nicely.. what a friendly little flock they are.. there are about 3 dozen of those.. soon I will have to sort out the little roos. they will be invited to our thanksgiving dinner..

This cooler weather is sure nice for working. Got a 3 day weekend this next weekend hopefully to whack and stack some birds. Probably gonna have to get some yard work and crap done too I suppose. Maybe a bonfire and some friends over too.

good morning,

I got my chimney flue extended and additional 11 inches yesterday. that's all I got done outside after bowling.

I have a VA appointment at 8 this morning, but I will have all day after that to work on the siding. all these appointments and commitments sure interfere with what I want/have to do.

9 eggs yesterday, that is a new record. at least for this bunch of freeloaders..

and the Sagittas continue to grow.

Cory, I hope you stack up a big pile of birds .
remember, the jobs will still be there, the birds will move along...

I have never planted sweet potatoes. I should try.
where/how do you get seeds ?

I didn't plan on re-doing the siding. therefore I did not take any "before" and "after" pictures.. I suppose I still could take some of the upper chase section from the roof side.

It is raining lightly here right now. but I have some ground work I could/should do..

have to dig a few potatoes for supper.

Sweet potatoes are grown using slips. Slips can be ordered from most seed companies. I get my slips either from last year's crop or a good quality sweet potato from the grocery store. Did anyone in your family ever put toothpicks in the cutoff end of a sweet potato, hang the end into water, and grow vines in the window sill? Those would be the slips that you would use to plant (as long as they are not too long) your sweet potatoes. I like the information provided in the following website which gives information all the way to curing and storage of your sweet potatoes.

I think I remember my older sisters taking a carrot and hollowing out the end with the brush on it. hanging it with a string and putting water in the hollowed out portion.

I have something happen to me . I wonder if it happens to anyone else ?
after being logged in to chzhds for a period of time, any post that I made comes to me as a blank post. I can read other peoples' posts, but there is no print in mine..

anyhow, I have logged out and came back in. (that is how I cure the problem)

I got the base set for Dish TV and Chris from Dish came right away and remounted the dish.. from the horizontal set to the vertical set. It looks great. Now I can add the last two pieces of siding and begin framing up the tiny roof..
