LOL! Looking good! Must be a human entrance doorway I see.
Yep! It's a coop/run combo, all framed up together with a roof over the whole thing.
Although I do wish I had discovered the coop section of this site before I started- I'm using some free plans from HGTV (I've never built anything before so I need heavy guidance) they are okay, aside from a few typos etc, but I feel like there are a few short cuts and cost savers I could have done had I known anything before I started.
Also- this is going to be like a palace for the 4 hens I am allowed. (Well you know... The 4 legal ones at least...)

zzzzzzzzzzzz I like your attitude.
you shouldn't get into trouble as long as your chickens don't bother anyone.
I know a little about building, so ask away.

Randy will be gone until early next week, so that allows me to go into his room and trim out his window without bothering him..

we have a surplus of snow today. it is a nuisance, but still pretty; hanging in the trees.

this is the puppy's first time in snow.
He doesn't seem to mind it.

Snow! We have rain showers here.

I had a late night last night playing cards and eating too much. It was a lot of fun, but I end up paying for it the next day.

How is that girl pup doing, Jim?

It's a good day to be working on a coop...:D

zzzzzzzzz,
that is a unique way of framing a wall.
nothing wrong with it, though..
You did not have to use treated wood at the top of the wall. again nothing wrong with it except it is a little more expensive.

at the bottom of the door; it will swing above the bedding inside the coop.
I like that feature. in fact, I redid my coop door to do just that..

for your intermediate bracing, you wouldn't have to notch them in.
you can cut them to the length of the space between the studs and end nail them in. might save a little work.

are you sheathing it with plywood ?

what kind of foundation is it going to set on ?

I would recommend a treated 2x4 nailed to the bottom of the studs.
untreated wood in contact with the ground, or concrete floor might tend to rot over time..

the little girl is gaining weight. looking good and her coat is not so mangy looking anymore.
now all she has to do is stand still and become a mommy..

I used to play Texas Hold Em quite a lot. haven't played for some time lately.. Kind of got P'd off at the group where I was playing. They went from "friendly" low cost games to out of my range $$$. If I am going to pay that much to play, I will go to the casino where the jackpot is higher for the same entrance fee..

The house across the street is progressing..... they were working on it furiously a few weeks ago and then took a long break.... and they are now back at it again. It's a pretty big house, even without the garage. It will be interesting to see how they finish it off.

Slowly settling in....... the house up north has the radon test Monday, home inspection on Friday. No idea when the closing is though......

Yeah, Mel, now with deer hunting coming up there will be no activity at the house across the street..

somebody asked for a picture.
here is as far as I am. I have to make casing for up the sides , yet.
