Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I hatched a doz of TerriO eggs last year. They have been good layers for sure. Since they started laying late last fall, they almost never miss a day. I'm the chef at our weekly Mens Lenten breakfast, and the eggs sure come in handy for the weekly meal. I'm still deciding if I'm gonna set another 2 doz eggs or not...time will tell.

On staycation this week. With the nice weather I dragged the youngest DS outside to help clean out a seasonal stream bed that appears to be the dumping site of the previous owners. We removed approximately 10 fire grates, a giant carpet, parts of a lawn mower, barbed wire, hardware cloth, a broken mirror, and miscellaneous broken canning jars, bottles, pottery, siding, and metal fencing posts. We only made it about 50 feet down the streambed, still have a lot to go.

Going to head north at the end of the week. I have not been up there since Christmas.

Our snow is mostly gone. Which means the return of predators.
Put the girls back in their run 3 days ago. The dog let me know the fox returned tonight.
Must be a very pungent scent for the dogs nose. Can always tell when he lights up on a fox.
Couple of the girls keep flying the coop. Will have to try clipping their wings tomorrow...or they will be on the menu for mr. fox. I live near the village limits, and the town folk feed and care for the fox's like they are pets. Is what it is. I have a new .22 to try out this year.

The slow melt still continues here, we still have 6" of ice mostly left to melt...I can't wait for a clear path to the coops.
Just a heads up for our cheeseheads annual bash....it will be May 31, June 1, and 2...not sure if I need to do a chickenstock post? What do you think bl4?
One can attend one day or all 3....are we going to have plant swaps etc including white elephant, and donations for a raffle to cover cost of the facilities? Any help with opinions are welcome.... I'm looking forward to seeing friends, as well as new ones.

Us southern chicken folks were just talking about the bash on Saturday.

I can get a post going in the meet and greet part of the forum.

Busy day; washed curtains, ironed curtains, made marmalade, washed cabinets, took the Christmas lights off the house..... overall a good day. looking forward to the arrival of my chicks and bees!

Ok Jim, what’s up? I am waiting your opinion of the coop plans I picked out!

Any advice is welcome of course; you are the master craftsman here.

Thought I would show off the marmalade. It is such a nice color this time!
