Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

We have a large lilac bush in the yard that we are going to have to move to put in the patio that DH wants to build this summer. I love that lilac! Like most lilacs, it is a mass of stems at the ground, about 3' diameter total. It is about 6' tall and over 8' in diameter total. We are not going to be able to move it whole.

@jvls1942 I may try to make some of the stems form roots by your "tinfoil" method, do you think this would work? Is it too early to wrap the stems? It hasn't broken bud yet, but I thought maybe having it wrapped before hand will make it happen faster?

Any advise?

What color is the lilac? I would take shoots if it was one of the old fashioned dark purple variety....

Took off on a quick weekend trip to Idaho this weekend. What a beautiful place! Stayed in Boise; gorgeous little city nestled in a valley between the mountains. Checked out the Snake River Canyon and Shoshone Falls...

Anyone going to have heritage breed chicks for sale this spring? I need to get some new layers and would like to get something besides the hybrids that I have.

I think I will add Boise to my list of places to potentially move to..... I was thinking North Carolina but who can argue with those views! No hurricanes, mild winters, hot summers, and plenty of outdoor activities to do! Plus a growing zone of 6-7! I am trying to find a downside here.......
