Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Downside to Boise:
High mountain dessert climate - DRY! must irrigate to grow most anything. Wildfire risk.

We almost moved to Boise but the paycut that my husband would have had to take would have been substantial.

And we are not Morman. Granted, that is illegal but it is also very hard to prove. I even had a couple of Morman friends tell me that I would have a hard time finding a job in that area without joining the church.

EDDITED TO ADD: the Californians are moving in and bringing their lifestyle/expectations/society with them. It is not meshing very well with the existing ways.

Thanks everyone for the advice on order of greens popping up in the Spring!!!!! I love ramps and morels and the advice given will help narrow the timing. Last year I found and ate one morel in my yard and have been searching this week, but it sounds like I have some time still. We do have several lilacs, so are we talking the buds are all the way open or just starting?

Property is very pricey in Boise.....10k per acre common and simple ranch style houses go for 250k. I have a friend at church that has a daughter who is a DNR warden there. He is going to visit for Easter...jus sayin.

We need sunshine here!

Hopefully this is winter's last hurrah. I really loved those 2 nice days we had before the snow. So did the chickens. They were out in the yard for a good long time. I stayed out with them watching the sky for the hawks we've been seeing around.
I'm hoping to get a dog soon. I need a poodle or poodle mix because of my husband. Stupid allergist tested him for dogs even though he's never reacted to the dogs we've had or my daughter's dogs and now he says he has a dog allergy.
I've been trying on Petfinder with no luck, someone beat me to the two I applied for. I must be patient.
