I ordered some saddles from onther BYC member, the other day for some of my girls. Here's one of my Frizzles...."Frank"....like Frankinstine and her new ensomble.
Just finished our 1st batch of maple syrup- we put up 13 - 8 oz jars of syrup and had about a half of jar left so that went into the frig to eat... it tasted pretty good when we tried a bit. We have the 2nd batch of sap boiling down as well and collected 13 gal of sap today as well.
TO, I am sending you a PM. Those mallards need to go!!!!! They are picking on my poor little black baby!
I came home tonight to a poor little black duck who had been attacked all day long by the male mallard and was missing a lot of her back ans neck feathers. When the kids grabbed her we discovered she was pretty thin too. So off to the big nice tub she went with a bucket of mealworms. Poor baby just kept drinking water and eating....... eventually she started to clean herself up and try to get her feathers in order, but her poor little back is all black and blue from that drake. When she was finished cleaning herself I ran the hair dryer on her....... she thought that was great! We have all of them separated right now....... and I am at a loss on figuring this issue out!
In other news..... we have 4 eggs!!!!! I actually got to watch Maggie lay her first egg! It was pretty cool!
Oldest DD went to Chi-town yesterday on a field trip to the Art Institute school to see a fashion show; the kid had a blast! Kept making comments about how there is a Starbucks on every corner.
