Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Put some swarm traps up last Saturday…… hoping this is the real deal and not robbing, I have 4 traps, two with bees that behave like they have found ‘home’.

Well went to farm and barn bought 3 pullets. 2 cinnamon queen and a Wyandotte for my broody hen. So far so good,
Had planned on getting other varieties, but just never got around to ordering them.
The chicks at farm and barn been selling fast i guess.
Next week possibly by 4 more.
Chicken math, goto store to buy 2 chickens end up with 4. Bout how it goes.
Like to get couple orpingtons and not sure what else.
Might get some rangers from Sunnyside, but see how the freezer goes.

My brahma mixed with austrolorps are laying quite well. Most of my hens are mixed from hatching last year.

I don't know if I mentioned this here or not.
I am putting casters on my power tools.
the table saw is done. this picture is of the
4" jointer lying on it's side on the table.
the next project will be the 6" jointer.
Looks good.

I am putting new brake lines on a ford ranger given to me.

My hen took in the 3 chicks. So far so good.

Nice snowy Sunday here for the last day of April. Sure, hope May brings normal temps again. The greenhouses all opened yesterday around here. Maybe go tomorrow for my bedding plants and potato sets. One can't wait too long, or you risk the varieties you are after being sold out. Keeping them inside will be a hassle for a while, but it always works out well.

Stay safe ...bigz

We didn’t have snow up here, but plenty of rain. Snow is still around in small patches. Cloudy and windy in the mid-30’s today. 🥶

Tomorrow our chicks arrive!! Brooder is set up and waiting. So excited and nervous at the same time.

Nothing but good wishes for your new chick's badger Farm! It is exciting as Christmas the first time around and the care being given to the new arrivals will be enjoyed by them too. It sounds like you have the careful eyes watching. It becomes a lifestyle if years and years of care for the flocks become something dear to you.
My flocks are spoiled, and we totally enjoy the extra effort we give them with clean nests, (clean eggs) coops, fresh water,(good health) good feed and treats, as well as hours around them.
Have fun with the new ones.

Stay Safe ... bigz
