Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Can't ask for better tomato growing weather.
I planted nine plants in three large containers.
I will have to stake them real soon.
Yesterday I cleaned out my rain barrel. DD gave me a screened cover for it. I didn't know they made such things.
then I hosed down the inside of the 12ft aluminum boat. I am going to sell it. I don't use it anymore.
the tiny tomatoes I planted a few days ago are going to need staking soon.
with rain just about every day, I haven't had to water them.

I have 3rd crop sweet to put in, it could stop raining give me a break, not this week.
Thinking of sidedressing first planting, looks like to much rain coming.
Last year no rain.
Nice to hear tomatoes growing good, wifes garden growing good also.

Yep Jim, the tomatoes are doing really well here too.
Amazing how we couldn't get any rain last year in the rain barrels when we needed it and this year, they are full and don't need it, so far.
One still has until the 26th to plant here in order to have crop insurance.

Stay Safe ... bigz

TOR, I think he meant that the corn would grow alright .
what do you do when it is raining and very warm?
Why, you can the kraut that you started on Easter weekend. I water bathed fifteen pints.
I learned something. You start the kraut so it is ready to can when it is a little cooler..
My rain barrel was half full from yesterday morning's rain. then it rained last night. I imagine it will be almost full when I check it later today.
I have not had to water my new tree or the tomatoes . But the rain barrel will come in handy whem it stops raining. Last year it rained enough so that I could use the rain barrel all summer.
I gave up trying to plant corn. can't get a dry enough spell to work up the garden.

My daughter in law writes crop insurance and told me on Fathers Day that they will insure if you plant by the 26th. I thought I would share the information with you TOR. I would have to find out if there is a small size limit to the amount being insured.
The deer eat all my crops pretty much.

yup wife broke up bunch flowers and replanted on other side house, now they are half the size they were, must not been a deer favorite still half of them not eaten, deer have already made couple passes in corn.
when ever something is planted or dirt is turned, the deer know it and will be there.

We have deer on the deer cams almost every night/morning going right past where we have corn planted and down the trail to the creek. They know when the dogs are sleeping I guess.

They usually don't bother our corn if the farmer planted corn across from us. :)

If not, I move a couple of our solar motion lights over there and they walk around it then instead of through it.

I just checked the gauge and it's a smidge over 2" of rain since yesterday afternoon. (West of Shawano). We're used to the yearly flood watches but we're on top of a steep creek bank so never flood.

We found where all the leaks are in the temp pens we recently made though. We've got 13 little month-olds playing in the mud. Probably not too healthy so we hauled some logs that they can jump around on to stay out of it. The older ones just stay out in the rain. That's stupid but they're silkies so what can I say lol.

Everyone else staying dry or trying to?
